Works for cats too!
I live in an old house that has a pocket sliding door to the back hallway that leads to the basement. When we would leave, the cat, we inherited would jump the baby gate and slide the door open because we were unable to lock it from the ‘outside’. I tried a minimal hook and loop door closure, but since the pocket door is hollow, the hook would just fall out. 😖. Enter this child proofing system. Works great. Easy enough for my 12 year to operate. Had to use a stronger adhesive since it was connecting to a wooden door frame, but hasn’t fallen off since. Cat has tried to open the door but can’t get her head through. So I think this was a good solution.

I LOVE THIS!
I LOVE THIS!!! I spent 2 hours installing the Safety 1st cabinet catches for them to all break within 1 day of use. However, that is not the case with these. They go on sooooooo quickly and easily. I had them all installed within 5 minutes. They work beautifully, and, because my cabinets are white, they blend in, too! My husband was worried that he would break them as the safety 1st ones broke so easily, but he's already given these the absent-minded tug, and they held on strong!! Furthermore, they are so easy for an adult to unclasp that cabinet access is a breeze. The same cannot be said for a child. Because you have to slide and pull, there's no way my baby is getting into these, no matter how brilliant she may be =p I'm buying some more right now to make the rest of my house safe for my little girl. Simply put, IT'S A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A good solution for baby proofing.
These are well made and are easy to put on. There are two "covers". One is factory set loose and this is the one you adjust the length of the lock. You remove it and adjust then slide in the cover and it'll snap into place. Note that once you snap it into place it's pretty much set so don't experiment too much. I couldn't find a way to undo that without destroying it.The other cover has a level. This is what you pull up on and it releases the cover allowing you to access the drawer, cabinet, or other thing. It works very well. When you're done you snap it back into place.Be careful about the surfaces you use these on. The adhesive is strong enough it might pull up paint upon removal.

Perfect for safety of lazy Susan and pantry doors
These are great. We used for both a corner lazy Susan and pantry doors and a storage cabinet to keep the baby from getting into these places. We were concerned about baby pinching his fingers. These have worked amazingly well.

They were easy to install
I was not a fan. They were easy to install, and they worked when they were used properly, but there were three big issues:1) Using them wasn't easy. The mechanism to detach the latch is not very intuitive, and it's hard for adult fingers to do it. I realize it's supposed to be hard for the kid, so they CAN'T get it open, but when nature calls, and calls hard, I can't afford to NOT be able to open the toilet lid.2) One broke on my toilet relatively quickly, but the others stayed in tact. One is all it takes though, so for me, this is a quality issue I can't ignore.3) When I tried to fix the broken one, the plan was to take a strap from one that hadn't been used, and slip it in the same mount that's holding the broken strap. Why go through the trouble of peeling them off and mounting the new ones? Well, it was absolutely impossible to get the old strap out of the broken mount... so, there was that.Seems to me that there is an inconsistency issue with their manufacturing. When it works, it does the job, although adult fingers are going to struggle detaching them, so you can use the toilet. 3 stars. Definitely not understanding all of these 5 star reviews. Not on its best day.

They lock back into place easily, and are also very simple to mount
They keep my 1 year old out of the cabinets and places he REALLY wants to get into but REALLY shouldn't be. You can get creative with the mounting for a wide variety of uses (drawers next to walls, for instance). They lock back into place easily, and are also very simple to mount. It's a bit difficult to see in the images, but the center portion of the lock is a sliding tab. It slides outward, away from the strap, to unlatch from the locking tab that's stuck to your cabinet. The sliding tab has a bit of a lip behind it, and a few dots for texture, so you can either snag it with your fingernail (even if you keep them quite short), or press your thumb onto the top and slide it. Use another finger or thumb under the now-overhanging portion of the tab, and the whole piece lifts away. It's a quick motion once you figure it out, and now that we've had them installed for 6 months, I can do it without thinking. Also, to the guy who asked, they won't keep a grown man out of anywhere, even if he's a few beers deep.We wanted some kind of latch that wouldn't have to be permanently installed, but would function as well as any permanent ones. To be fair, I haven't tried any of the other ones, but I'm not sure how any other latch design could be as versatile as this, while also being as easy to operate. Also worth noting, they are VERY easy to clean if they manage to catch anything (they're in the kitchen, they're going to get stuff on them). A quick pass with a brush knocks any crud out of the few crevices on them, and they are back to looking quite white. I have enough stuff to do with a 1-year old in the house, I don't need extra chores.

Perfect
I'm very pleased with these locks, they work well on wooden surfaces and also in the kitchen where we have one of those shiny sort of cupboards. They're easy to use and there is no chance to get your fingers caught like with the traditional screw in ones. Very pleased, I highly recommend them.

Safety first
Great product to keep those sneaky little ones out of places they shouldn’t be. Used them on cupboards, ovens and fridges. Make sure you set the length correctly otherwise they will pull peel off from the strain. Also handy to use if the hinges on a oven door leave a small gap. Stops the heat escaping when cooking. Great price on these would recommend

Not suitable for toddlers
It's a well made product, but my 20 month old figured out how to open them in minutes.

Easy to fit (but READ the instructions)
Rocking - easy to fit and my 1yr old daughter Evelyn has not worked out how to get past them, despite having MacGuyver like skills of getting in to places she shouldn't.

Unfit for purpose
The media could not be loaded. These locks are not fit for purpose. I have only rated them one star as they were easy to apply and convenient for the adult to use one handed. My 18 month old had opened these within 24hrs.
