Didn't work out of the box
I'll give a little understanding that stuff happens sometimes. However this didn't work out of the box. I tried seeing if the switch or outlet (both mine and where it connects to the device) and for one brief second it started up, after that nothing. I, like an idiot, didn't save the box, etc. so I just tossed it, being not worth further hassle. The point of the review is to remember save packaging and to note the poor workmanship of the device, especially for the price. We had just gotten power back after Milton. So I was looking forward to something fun amid a hurricane mess. I cannot find a reason to give you a reason for a good review of the product except that the size was nice. It is all cheap plastic (which was expected) and obviously not the checked by quality control, if it has any. Just be careful. Others have said it works good for them and I'm glad. I just don't like the crap shoot it apparently takes to get a good one.

Nice Plasma Ball
This plasma ball is a nice size and the colors are very vibrant. I do notice that when it is plugged in but not on that there is a buzzing sound from the power adapter so we end up unplugging it when its not being used.

Am I (Electric) Blue? You Can Be TOO!
I have owned widgets like this for decades. The Plasma Ball is a miniature Tesla Coil. There is a famous photograph of Nicola Tesla sitting and peacefully reading in the middle of the massive coronal discharge of one of his Coils.(I won`t get into the fun details of that photo, because that is not why we are here).....This Plasma Globe is a small Tesla Coil inside a partial vacuum with inert gases that the electrical discharges flow freely through. It is a perfectly safe energy display. If you were to break the globe...it would simply stop working! This is a particularly active Plasma Globe... I note that in comparison with older such globes I own.The coronal discharge is a striking electric blue, and a great many tendrils are constantly flowing. The globe is VERY bright.....BUT...The pleasing glow of the globe is somewhat impeded upon by the VERY BRIGHT -- (and also electric blue) 'On' light that glows incessantly on the plug-in. The power cord is around 4 feet long, so you can only get the globe so far away from that incredibly BRIGHT little light. That little bright blue light almost seems like it is in competition with the Plasma Globe! That light stays on as long as the globe is plugged-in, so get used to it, unless you plan on un-plugging the Globe after every time you use it.Personally, I find it mildly annoying....ONLY mildly, but still annoying....A less bright light would have been far better.Anyway, the Plasma Globe is a fun thing to have, and the price is good for it.

A Fun Gadget
When I saw this, I decided I had to have it. I used to have a regular pink-blue-purple one years ago, but when I saw that this one is primarily blue, it reignited the sense of fun I used to have for these things. I put it on my desk at my day job, and everyone who comes through the office stops by to touch and watch it. I also get a kick out of telling them about the fact that, when they touch it, it creates ozone and leaves their fingertips smelling like they just handled sweaty coins. They then sniff their fingers and wrinkle their noses. The smell is temporary, and the amount of ozone produced is nowhere near enough to be problematic, but the creation of ozone is from the fact that the fingers moving around inside the globe are technically lightning.I do wish the globe were as crystal clear as it's made out to be in the product photos. In reality, there's a slight haze to it, I'm guessing to make the fingers of lightning branch out into little flower/palm-like shapes where they touch the glass.Overall, I really like this plasma ball. It's a big hit with my colleagues as well.

No cable included and ball not working
Big disappointment as my 8 year old is looking forward to this for days but showed up non-functional with missing part. Requested replacement right away but honestly not with high hope it would work. Will update once I receive the replacement.
