Since my bed does not have a headboard to grab onto to help me get my trunk upright this bed rail system looked very interesting. It assembled very easily and quickly. It is impossible to assemble incorrectly; when confronted with projects having tubes where you insert one inside the other and it's is held in place by a spring pin I always worry I'll assemble it wrong and have to disassemble with difficulty. But in this case the pins and corresponding holes are only on one side and when you match them up everything is forced to to come out right. The aluminum tubes are strong and I have not been able to bend them or deform them by my strength or body weight. They provide one webbing strap to attach under the mattress to the far rail of the bed but I have some webbing (Amazon) left over from another project (making belts) so will be able to attach a second web hold down.And as mentioned by other reviewers, the accessory bag/storage pocket keeps coming lose because the upper connections are just drop in with no physical snap. Minus one star. Even tightening the bottoms with the provided hook and loop fasteners does not prevent the top from getting unhooked. Since I would like to be able to remove the bag easily I do not want to deform the current attachment points to make it a permanent attachment. Since I have a grommet installing kit (Amazon) I will install grommets into the bag, loop them over the connectors on the vertical members and tie in place with either bag ties or zip ties.In conclusion very highly recommend both to help you get your feet off the floor into the bed and to get your feet back onto the floor later.

This BONTEC Bed Rail is easy enough to assemble and seems sturdy enough. My issues are with the accessories.I tested the rail on a queen bed with a 14" mattress. I took pics of the up and down heights for reference. It would have to be used at the highest position to be effective, in my opinion. If you have a mattress that isn't as thick, the height would work better for added safety. It fits under the mattress and with the foam rubber sleeves it holds in place pretty well. It seems like it would be very rare for it to slip out from under the mattress.Which is a good thing, because I wasn't happy with the way they shipped the safety strap. It should be completely assembled and not left up to the customer to know how to safely and securely weave the strap end through the clasp so that it doesn't slip apart.They were right in calling the pocket "detachable" because it detaches so easily that it naturally doesn't want to stay attached. About the only way to keep it attached would be to take a pair of pliers and pinch the tab down against itself so it has a hard time detaching from the slot.In summary, the basic bed rail is fine. Bontec needs to improve the pocket attachments and finish assembling the safety strap for its customers.
