I have a 20gal tank, I purchased the 10-40gal option. Other filters I’ve used didn’t work well, so I decided to try this one and I’m so glad I did!! It’s easy to use, good quality and It really helps keep the water clear. The smell of the tank has improved vs using the other filters, and the noise level is nice and quiet. I clean the filter with distilled white vinegar and do partial water changes weekly. It’s also nice to not have to constantly buy disposable filters.

I was getting super frustrated with my aquarium suddenly getting really cloudy and not clearing up after weeks of using water clarifier and small water changes. Bought this and within 5 days is a total night and day difference. I was hesitant to purchase a UV sanitizer bc I didn’t want my good bacteria to be harmed, but have not had any ammonia or nitrite spikes and fish seem super happy (obviously kept my normal filter running as well) 😊 Best $30 I’ve spent on this aquarium!

I have to say, if your tank is green due to algae let this thing run for 3 to 5 days and it will be crystal clear.I used this as a drop in supplement to my surface skimmers due to a light adjustment period to my 10 gal tank and it cleared it perfectly to what I wanted. The filter is currently removed but I will definitely use this and recommend it to anyone else.

I have a 120-gallon tank with a bio system underneath the tank stand cabinet. The filter looks very well made but I had to return it because the controller would not fit through the access hole in the back of the tank where all the wires go through for air movers', filters, heater and airlines. Too bad it didn't have a disconnect jack on the filter side of the controller wire.

UV bulb was broken upon delivery on May 23rd. Sent email for replacement. Seller did reply within 48 hours, on the holiday weekend, advising a replacement would be here in a few days. The replacement came on May 28th. The replacement bulb was more robust looking, and a bit larger. The Seller communicated with me twice. I am impressed with the immediate response. Until such time the unit itself fails, I'll suggest this is a good buy.

So I was skeptical about this water filter with uv light but my husband and I are pleasantly surprised and satisfied customers! The filter is strong for our 70 turtle tank! And it does clear the water and keeps it clean for longer times ! Also the sound of the filter is not that noisy and our turtles love the bubbles! They seem to like playing with it!!! And at night one of our turtles like to sleep close to the filter because it enjoys the bubbles!My husband and I definitely recommend this filter!

Product was amazing … while it lasted. Purchased back in October 2024. And now it hardly turns on and UV light quit working. Light doesn’t come on at all when plugged in and you have to tap the top of the pump just right to make it turn on.

This filter works really well on my 20-gallon saltwater tank. The UV light noticeably improves water clarity and helps with cloudiness. It’s quiet, reliable, and does its job.However, once I added filter floss, I had to change it every 48–72 hours. Each time I removed the filter to swap the floss, it stirred up detritus and clouded the tank instantly—leading to nitrate and nitrite spikes. It became frustrating and messy.I use a Seachem HOB filter on my 75-gallon, and it’s much easier to maintain without disrupting the tank. I recently ordered the Seachem 35 to replace this one.If you don’t plan to use filter floss or clean your filter often, this one will work just fine
