Fun to build and play
Easy to put together. Box was in Japanese but the instructions were in my native language (instructions are on cartridge which is instered into switch which you follow along with in native language). It is quite time consuming-took us 6 hours with some breaks, and we were motivated yo finish. Even though it's cardboard, it's quite sturdy and with care, will last a long time. The game, once put together, is fun. You do various robot tasks/battles. Parent and 7yr old put together. Patent did the folding, child read directions and helped where it made sense. Would buy other labo creations.

VERY COOL FOR LITTLE ENGINEERS!
The media could not be loaded. The features are very cool. I’m amazed at the interactiveness. The value for your money exceeds my expectations. It’s worth every penny. It’s high quality and builds nicely. My 10 year old did it 100% on his own and it took him 3.5 hours. He’s a builder by nature. It fits him nicely and it’s comfortable and fun. It works perfectly, it’s really a very cool thing!!

Get LABO while supplies last!
First, LABO is now discontinued, so I recommend getting a set while supplies last and prices are low. The games will continue to work just fine, but there are no updates present or future. As for this particular set, gameplay is simple - pilot a robot to destroy everything in sight (trees, cars, towers and other robots), gain xp, and upgrade abilities and skills. The robot can fly, turn into a giant, transform into a tank, FLY as a tank and other cool stuff. Nothing really attacks or deals damage in return - it's just a fun smash 'em up game. The real joy comes from kids building their own robot (or "mech suit" as my son calls it). The robot's back shows how the internal parts are moving in the backpack, sso kids can understand the science / mechanics of their build. And they get to say "I MADE this" when they show it off.For $27, my kid got an awesome STEM project that he built entirely on his own and can play on the Switch. And this particular set is simple enough to repair or replicate as the cardboard and string eventually gives out.

Great father/son bonding building, it and better than playing games slumped on the couch!
It's a decently involved build process, took my 7yo and me some days to go through it a few steps at a time. But the instructions in the software (English available!) were clear and it went together without any issues.Playing with it is great, it's educational and physical - a nice break from sitting on the couch endlessly smashing your super bros or whatever! If you have a switch and want to make more use of it without resorting to 'mindless screen time' - this is worth a look!

Worth it
My 7 year old spent 2 days putting this together and loves playing and being able to control the robot by his own movement

Awesome
Japanese version was the way to go. Everything reverts to English. I seriously can’t believe this game was only $28. It took me a few evenings after work to build! But if you have an engineering mind you will be blown away at the precision of the folds and they way it goes together. When you finally build it, the game portion is actually really awesome too! I still can’t get over the fact that it’s all cardboard and strings yet it is this interactive. And the way the strips are picked up by the controllers, wow. Just can’t say enough for what you get for the price!

Good build concept but fails to keep interest
My son enjoyed putting this together though at times had some troubles. The pieces mostly fit well. It gets a 3 stars because of the replay-ability. The included game was disappointing and after just a little time he had done everything he could and lost interest.

STEAM project
My son love science, engineering, art and video games and this have it all. He spent time building this with his grandparent, parents, friends and independently. It give easy to follow step by step instructions with several stopping point so he could work on it a little bit at a time.
