Great blanket, good material, and helpful for sleep
I ordered a 20 lb queen size blanket. I’m 5’4” and weigh around 200 lbs. The weight feels good and not too heavy at all. The glass beads inside are small so you really can’t feel the beads at all. They are glass and you can tell because they add a definite cooling effect to the blanket. The beads are distributed well and don’t bunch up or move around that is noticeable. The material is soft and high quality.Even though the material of the blanket itself is nice, I will definitely be purchasing a duvet cover for it. 20 lbs is definitely heavy and I think it would be hard on my washing machine. You can hand wash it, but it’s already 20 lbs and if it got wet I have no doubt that weight would easily double if not more. The feel of the weighted blanket is lovely. I have chronic pain, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. It definitely helped reduce my pain and I have no doubt it will help my anxiety and insomnia. I’m excited for a great night of rest.Because of my health issues, I’m a person that gets up at least once if not more a night. The weighted blanket can be a tiny bit more difficult to get out of if you’re in a rush, but nothing significant. I think the benefits definitely outweigh that.I have cats and they have yet to ruin to the blanket. So far, even with kneading on the blanket it hasn’t ripped any holes.Overall I’m very satisfied with this blanket. If you’re on the fence about ordering one, do it! I don’t think you will be disappointed!

I was skeptical, but i think there is something to weighted blankets!
I’ve struggled with insomnia for years and years, in part due to what i call “runaway brain” and the inability to fall asleep for over an hour or more. I thought it would get better with retirement but it didn’t. I’ve tried CBD, THC, antihistamine, melatonin, white noise, listening to podcasts with a pillow speaker, turning off blue screens by 8 pm, all to no avail. So while watching the morning news recently there was mention of the benefits of weighted blankets, which I had heard of before but considered them to be a gimmick. But this news report talked about the how they release serotonin levels. So I thought, what the hell, and went off and did some research online. I eventually choosing this YnM bamboo blanket after reading many reviews.Because I weigh 115 lbs I bought the 12 lb blanket. (The proper weight is 10% of your body weight). At first i thought it might be too heavy - it does take a bit of getting used to, and I probably would have done well with a 10 lb too, but it’s not enough for me to exchange it for the lighter blanket. I do feel that i am getting used to the weight after two weeks. What happened right away is that the first time i used it I fell asleep within 30 minutes. And even though i still had to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, i went right back to sleep. It was my first night of 8 hours of sleep in months and months! However, I didn’t credit the blanket just yet because it was particularly cold that evening and sleep is always better during winter weather. But second night, same thing. While I did get a little warmer in the middle of the night and threw it off, I later put it back on and slept until 8 am. Again, i had 8 hours of sleep, without runaway brain and also falling asleep faster. This is unprecedented for me.I’ve now been sleeping with this blanket for a couple of weeks and have decided there is indeed something to weighted blankets and better sleep. I am having vivid dreams that tells me i am getting deeper sleep. At times in the morning i don’t want to get out of bed because it feels so cozy. (I’m so glad I’m retired!)Observing my experience, my husband is now interested in getting one as he too suffers from insomnia, so we are going to get 20 lb twin size for him. That way i can get rid of the blanket under the quilt which I believe will help us from getting too warm.I do love the soft satiny feel of the fabric and the color gray that I ordered is a beautiful light gray. It was surprising how flat it lays when folded (see photo) as I was expecting it to be bulky. I may do an update here later and give the blanket 5 stars but it’s still a bit early and i want to see if it holds up and how it washes. I decided against buying the duvet cover as reviews show that it doesn’t fit that well. Also i want the blanket to look nice when folded and i don’t want to struggle every day getting it off and on.Edited to add on 7-11-20. I changed my review to five stars after sleeping with this blanket for months. It’s amazing. And is still like new. I am even using it in summertime and it does not make me hot (we do have air conditioning and cool air keeps the blanket fabric cool.) my husband loves his too. I’ve recommended this to many friends.

Obsessed with this weighted blanket in silver
I love everything about this weighted blanket. I ordered it in summer but quickly I put it away until cooler weather. It’s satin and shiny silver, has individual small pocket squares so its glass beads disperse evenly. The weight is perfect for me so look at your personal weight recommendations for best comfort. It’s warm yet cooling material. I bought the long twin I believe and turn it sideways. It covers from end to end my king size bed. I don’t like my toes covered so it perfectly covers me from my neck to my ankles but could cover my feet if I wanted. I’m 5ft 5”.

Bamboo vs. Cotton, for Anxiety and Breathablility
I've used this for over a year. I bought a weighted blanket for anxiety. I bought the bamboo for sleeping cool. My children use YNM blankets and the quality of YNM is great. This review is specifically for the bamboo blanket and duvet. Note: For anxiety, buy more weight than recommended.Pro: I've been pleasantly surprised how well it has worked during a hot Utah summer.Cons: The bamboo is SLICK and it is HARD to keep the blanket inside the duvet adjusted. It needs more ties. It is always too much at the bottom or too much at the top. I have to grab the blanket and duvet together and give it a flip or two to try to distribute the weight more evenly. I haven't had to do that when I've borrowed my son's cotton blanket with cotton duvet, same brand. Also, the cotton set is supposed to be 12 lbs. and my bamboo set 15 lbs. but the cotton set definitely feels heavier for sleeping--more consistent weight on my body. My bathroom scale says the weights are correct. I think the bamboo just slides around inside the duvet or something.I just ordered a 20 lb. cotton set and I hope it does well as our summer temps rise. Thank you to others who have suggested layering for more weight! If you buy a bigger blanket for more weight, it is simply distributed over a larger area. My bed does not need the weight, I do.EDIT: Changed from 2 stars to 4 stars. I received the 20 lb. cotton blanket. The bad news is, any blanket heavier than the 12 lb cotton is just heavy so it's not going to be as easy to keep it centered in the duvet. The bamboo does slide more so not 5 stars. It would be nice if they included more ties and loops for 15 lbs and above.
