Spent the extra money to get the 1/2 as I really needed the extra chilling power. Turns out according to the manual this is only a 1/10 hp chiller at worst and a 1/3 at best as they don’t even offer a 1/2hp! Glad I looked at the manual!! Beware!!!

New to cold plunging and Bought this for my DIY cold plunge setup. The Texas heat and humidity made it impossible to try to use ice every time I needed to cool the water. Water temp from the water hose is 83 degrees and this chiller cooled down the water to 55 degrees overnight. Haven’t tried going colder than 55 but it seems like it would as it’s not having to run continuously once it gets to 55. Even though these hoses are smaller and the pump is pretty small, it still works great. The chiller sounds about as loud as a mini-fridge so pretty quiet. Once it gets to temperature it shuts off and you can adjust when it kicks on and off. I have mine set to 55 but kick back on at 58. I may eventually upgrade to larger hoses and pump if that’ll help it run less frquently. Highly recommend and pair with a GFCI small extension cord.

Please be aware that this company is false advertising for a revenue gain. It is the same 1/3 HP Chiller that everyone else has for $30-$40 less.
