Fast hot pi
As with all the Raspberry SOC computers this is a handy gadget. The latest desktop and stretch operating system are a big improvement. Still not a true windows pc replacement - but it only costs £35. Great for browsing and email when on the wall behind a large screen TV. Recommended

What's not to like.
Raspberry PI's are so flexible for 1001 projects. This one went in my car to drive my Android Auto set up.

Nice update but power hungry
Summary: Pi3 is still probably the best overall especially if you secure a big discount (say 28 vs 38 pounds) as performance is similar and uses less power. If you're going to use the internal WiFi or BT LE then get this one. But check the PSU provides enough power!Performance wise this is not a big upgrade, ~20% if generous for almost 75% more power. While Pi3 would be OK with a 2A PSU you may need 2.5A+ for this thus it depends whether you need the extra performance.LAN is now gigabit but limited by USB2 bus - still faster than 100Mbit but are you really going to need such bandwidth from a Pi?WiFi gets a big update now supporting 5GHz and higher rates (up to 433Mbps) thus a lot better than Pi3. BT is now version 4.2 and naturally supports LE. You may also get away with using WiFi + BT simultaneously with it which was unreliable on Pi3. But still best to use LAN if you're going to use BT.The WiFi chip is now also shielded and the antenna is snazzier. Unfortunately still no UFL/IPX connector for external antenna and perhaps it is now harder to solder your own. But gain is better than the Pi3 so you may be OK. Of course you can always add a 3-rd party WiFi or BT dongle. There is now a heat dissipation plate over the SoC but to be honest you should be using a heatsink already, they're cheap. But heatsinks for Pi3 may not work (like the great SNES over-board one).If you need a fast Pi and want to save money and will use LAN then go for Pi3. If you're going to use WiFi then get this one.

Good quality.
Very eazy to install and configure. I installed OctoPrint and I am using it for controling my 3d printer remotly.

Great tool for the "experimenter"
Works well enough. An understanding of Linux types of OS will help bur things like interfacing serial ports takes more understanding

Addition of dual wifi makes this model top
With the onboard wifi and 1.4ghz cpu makes this a totally versatile processor board. Took nearly a week to get here from germany?. I would of expected a lot quicker coming from uk based RS COMPONENTS. Remotely operating the pi from a windows machine via VNC is a doddle. Especially when little tweaks in python programs are required without keybrd and monitor.Edit..Failed few hours later, found unsolded joints. :(
