Because Natural Disasters are a Thing
I am a huge advocate for having emergency food and supplies on hand. The Red Cross recommends that you have at least three days of food, water, medicine, etc. on hand in case of an emergency, such as a natural disaster. Kits like these are an excellent way to put together an emergency store of food. This package is about the size of a large bag of pancake mix and contains multiple servings of oatmeal, creamy chicken flavored rice, and cheesy broccoli rice. The package claims, "26 servings" but I find the serving sizes to be a bit dubious. Realistically, there is enough food here for a single person to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner for three days. These foods are freeze dried and packaged in a sterile, thick plastic/foil type bag. So long as they are kept in a cool, dry place (such as in a closet or back of the pantry), they will easily last far beyond the stated 25 year shelf life. While this is an inexpensive way to have some emergency food on hand, it does lack protein. That's why I also purchased a #10 can of Mountain House Diced Chicken (seen in the second picture--NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS PURCHASE). By adding some freeze dried chicken to this emergency meal kit, you are adding some much needed protein and additional calories, which means you now have enough portions for a couple of people for 3 days. And in an emergency, that can make all the difference! All in all, this is an excellent buy and highly recommended!

They're okay, but could be a lot better.
They're okay, but could be a lot better. This shipped quickly in a well padded envelope.Okay, first let's start with what is bad. This is a carb-laden low-protein meal pack. Not only that but they do not provide a lot of calories/day, at about 610 calories if you hace one serving of each per day. Servings are small for most people . That's okay, but not great. I would look of this as more of a supplement to an emergency food kit for you or your family. But you may want to think of adding some form of protein to this to get your calories in. I would not rely on this if one was a diabetic and concerned about carbs.Flavor was okay but I was not overly impressed. I'm sure in an emergency it would be great. The shelf life of this is fantastic and should be good for most people. Because of this I would add this to a balanced emergency food kit as a supplement and not a main.Even with some of the drawbacks of this kit I would still recommend it.

Would only be better if it was packed in smaller pouches for rationing.
These meal kits were easy to cook and tasted pretty good. My main complaint about it is that even though there are a lot of servings for each meal, you would need to measure it out if you don't need that many servings and they are not in individual packs. Just three big bags for each type.

Excited
Very happy to get this item. You never know what's going to happen in the future. Watch "The Road". So any extra sustenance you can get for an emergency is a plus. Haven't tried any of it but my thinking is if you are hungry enough, a boiled shoe sole would be tasty. So this stuff would be like a filet mignon. Grab it while you can!

Great low-cost emergency meal kit, a must for camping and preparedness.
To test the 3-Day, 26-Serving Emergency Meal Kit with my picky grandchildren, I took it along on a family camping trip. I was surprised that everyone enjoyed the dinners, and it was very easy to make. I can spend more time camping instead of standing behind a hot cook-plate in the intense heat because the package includes dry meals that just need to boiled water to it.Everyone was pleased with the flavors. The grandkids loved the oats with brown sugar and maple syrup. The chicken-flavored rice paired nicely with our pork chop dinner, and the cheese-topped broccoli rice was a terrific side dish for hotdogs and hamburgers at lunch. There are ten servings in each pouch, therefore there was more than enough food for my family of eight, including four grandkids, my son, his girlfriend, my husband, and myself. The compact size of the package makes it convenient to have on hand, allowing for proper storage without taking up too much space. It's a wonderful addition to any disaster preparedness stockpile, since we all know that the "SHTF" day is quickly approaching. The meals' lightweight nature makes them excellent for hiking excursions, as they won't weigh down your backpack. All things considered, this emergency meal kit is an excellent inexpensive source for both camping and disaster preparedness. Highly recommended!

Good Tasting and Useful for Emergency Food
This is actually good tasting for what it is and definitely useful in an emergency. You receive 3 different meal kits in a larger bag. The problem is that this is intended as a 3-day meal kit, but 2 of the bags are made to be made at one time and the bags aren't re-sealable to try and make smaller potions. They have a long cooking time, but after being prepared, I don't know how you would store it to prevent the rice-based entrees from drying out in an emergency situation. Except for the oatmeal which can be made in smaller batches, I see the 2 main entrees as best for feeding multiple people at one meal, as opposed to using them over time.
