We’re trying to help my 7 year old with reading. This is geared for pre-k but it has served as a good base/foundation for my son. It supplements what he’s learning in school. Overall, good buy.

These cards are great for students learning phonics. It comes with cards that explain how to use them, give you tips, as well as a list of spelling patterns which are included in the box and rings to put the cards on. These cards are great because you can pick just one spelling pattern for students to practice or create a mixture of several. We have been using these in the classroom for a month now and they have held up well with Kindergarten students. Dry erase makers go on well and are easy to erase. There is a side where the student creates the entire word or you can have a partially guided side where the student can fill in the blanks with the spelling pattern you chose. The partially full side also works well for students to self check to see if they were thinking of the right word when they looked at the picture. My students love choosing these cards as an activity to practice their phonics.

I homeschool my daughter who is just about to finish up first grade. Learning to read has been an adventure for her and, while we love the All About Reading and All About Spelling curriculum we use, I've been looking for other tools to support her growth. We've tried a bunch of other flashcard products and none of them have been anywhere near the quality of these in either construction or content. Physically they're very well made and work excellently with the included dry erase markers as well as standard Expo ones. I love that they come punched for rings and the included rings work well to organize them. There are no translation or poorly-matched image issues (ex: an image of a broom paired with the word "mop") like I have seen in some other card sets. Everything on these makes perfect sense to a native N. American English speaker. You can tell right off the bat that these were designed by someone with extensive knowledge and experience in teaching children to read. The words are well chosen to fit the targeted skills and are something most children would be familiar with using in their daily vocabulary. Since beginning using these cards, my daughter's reading fluency and spelling have both improved considerably so I'm very happy with them.

I'm an SLP and have just started treating literacy in my clinic. I have all 3 sets, and they were super engaging for my client, very helpful for working on our targets, and made lesson planning easier. A great addition to my clinical toolbox.

This is the BEST tool out there that helps with spelling and reading. I love that it’s evidence-based, created by an ACTUAL speech-language pathologist, and very easy to use. Most important of all, my 6-year old loves using this. I’ll definitely be buying all three sets of cards from The Mighty Readers. Highly recommended!!

These are FABULOUS! As a literacy teacher, I don't find products that I approve of very often. These spelling cards are top-notch in terms of quality and educational value.Designed in Canada - I've looked through each card and there are no instances of "weird English" that you sometimes get on educational products.Strong and sturdy cards. Excellent materials and packaging.Well-designed graphics.Phonics focus: One side has the child fill in just the missing grapheme and the other side allows them to write the whole word.Highly recommended!
