Works well
I have a 2006 Honda Civic that was constantly getting an "engine light" signal. I checked the code and got a "Check Fuel Cap." I read some reviews and researched the problem. I thought about purchasing a new gas cap, but I thought it might be better to take it to the dealer to verify there weren't any problems with the system. I called the dealer to set up an appointment. They told me it would be expensive to diagnose the problem and suggested I try replacing the fuel cap. Since the car was old, I figured the car was worth a new fuel cap. And if it didn't work, something more serious was probably going on that would be worth taking to the mechanic. To make a long story short, the new fuel cap solved the problem for me.It did take a day or two before the system re-calibrated, so just be aware that it may take a day or two for the message to go away. You'll need to run through most of a tank of gas before the sensors will realize it's corrected.I dropped the rating one star because replacing the cap isn't much fun unless you know the secrets. To get the small plastic part that holds the end of the rubber tie out of the metal around the gas filler. Once you have it out, it's a clamshell that divides in half (you can insert a small screwdriver) to remove the end of the rubber tie. Be careful.I would recommend that rather than trying to replace the fuel cap AND new restraining strap, pry the old restraining strap off the old fuel cap (and likewise take the restraining strap off the new fuel cap), then put the existing (old) restraining strap on the new cap. I took the ring/restraining strap off the old fuel cap first (just in case I broke something, I would have the new cap and strap). I removed this by prying the ring with several small flat-blade screwdrivers and worked it off the bottom of the fuel cap. This was a bit more difficult than I thought it would be, and I found that trying to put the ring/strap on the new fuel cap in the reverse way was also tricky.

It serves its purpose
I got what I paid for. Did not come with instructions, so I had to figure out how to detach what the old one. It’s on there where the cord attaches to the car but barely. The cap is awkward to put on and take off.

Didn't quite fit exactly '11 TSX and sets off check engine light
Edit 2-1-24: Now I get a "check gas cap" warning every time i start my car. I have cleared it twice, but it keeps coming back. Yes, I tried the original one again and the code stays away. Definitely this cap. Epic fail. Highly NOT recommended.Says it's a replacement and it looks identical in every way, but I couldn't get it to fit without modifying it a bit. the little clip is just a touch too big around to fit in the hole where it needs to go so it can clip in. Got that all taken care of and went to put the gas cap in the hole, but the ring didn't spin... I forced it to start moving and it spins a little now, but this is definitely not a perfect replacement for factory. It'll work, but you'll have to make it work. Recommended fi there are no better options for the same price.
