Good basic punch burn machine with resistance. On the heavier end at 12 pounds. Turning action not that smooth compared to my other one, but it was also half the price. Good machine for stronger people who want it primarily for resistance and weight.

Out of the box, this trainer device comes with absolutely no instructions and we need to go to the Amazon page to learn the various modes of operation. All we get is a small leaflet with the specifications and the warranty registration on the reverse.The entire device weighs 10.6 pounds. The two knurled grips are relatively thin and very rough to the touch, almost like sandpaper. They include some useless partial gloves that only cover the palm while the fingers still rub against the rough metal, with the potential of creating calluses. The "gloves" are very thin and show very poor stitching and overall lack of craftsmanship (picture). We can throw these away and use some real padded leather gloves (bike, golf, weightlifting, etc.). Anything will be better than what they include. Using the device without gloves is painful! Another option would be to wrap some handlebar tape around the grips, especially for people with long fingers.Now for the resistance adjustment: All we get is a knurled knob that can be tightened more or less. It can be unscrewed easily, exposing the resistance mechanism. All the screw does is tighten the steel plate with glued on black brake pads (for lack of a better terms) against the painted rims increasing the pressure. There is a scale from 1 to 5 and an arrow from + to -, but the knob has no marker and turning in the + direction is the same as turning towards a smaller number. Super confusing! We can completely ignore these markers and just tighten the screw until the resistance feels right. There is no calibration at all. Nothing that would translate into the 8-12 ponds of resistance quoted here.It is not clear how long the pads and painted surface will hold up after extended use.Now for the actual use, it does offers some unique training modes and is efficient at that, but we need to bring our own gloves to avoid the pain. Make sure to tighten the adjustment screw somewhat, because if it would ever come off during use, we might have the knurled nut and a washer rolling somewhere out of sight.

I found this Ounan Burn Machine a bit of a strange device. I know it is a thing and I managed to find videos instructing how devices like this can be used. But, that being said, I still find it a bit bizarre.
