It was the perfect solution for my needs
My daughter made a piece of furniture for my Shih tzu dog to climb to our bed, but then we realized that whenever he stepped on the surface of that furniture the steps would lift so what we decided to do was to look for something that attached to the surface firmly and I found this little Article I ordered it and it worked just great. The only caveat that I found was that the screws that the items came with were too long and they would pierce through the wood plate and stick out and we decided to buy a smaller set of screws so we could use them with this latch , problem solved. What I really like about this is the fact that the design allows for some shift on the alignment so if you cannot center it properly, It will still work as long as the plastic little barrels touches the latch on the other metal hook.

Great latches, need sturdier screws.
The latches themselves are decent quality and work very well. The screws strip easily, used my own screws. Happy with the latches.

Latches work great. Screws do not.
Took me twice as long as it should have to install because the poor quality of the screws. Very soft metal and non-ferrous (magnetic drill driver bit couldn’t hold them). Dropped the screws several times and stripped multiple during install.

Simple but
Used them to hang drapes. They are simple but definitely served the purpose. Had a couple that lost their clasp but there were so many in the package that it didn't bother me.
