Abu Garcia Pro Max Low Profile Baitcast Reel - Baitcasting Reel for Predator Fishing, Perch, Pike, Zander

This is a fantastic reel, I bought it to replace my ageing Abu Orra SX reel. At first, I was unsure how this would perform as it doesn't carry the trusted Ambassadeur name but it is easily the smoothest reel I've owned and certainly a great baitcaster. I use this with a Savage Gear Black Savage jerkbait rod and it's perfect for chucking >100g lures. It comes well packaged and has a nice look with soft grip handles. The drag system is great and it also holds more than enough braid! Really can't recommend this reel enough! Bargain at this price!

A smooth and precise operating baitcasting reel. Small and compact, however, sturdy and well made. Easy to set for casting therefore less spool overruns. Ample capacity for either braid or nylon lines.To be used for Bass and for Salmon

It may be made in China, but this is a good reel. It has to be set up in order to avoid over-runs (like any multiplier). I use braided line to enhance the capacity of what is a small reel. I now use this for coarse fishing in place of a fixed spool reel. Really happy with it

Easy reel to use for the lures sits nice on the rod

Excellent reel smooth easy to wind even with large fish. It doesn't like fine light mono lines 4lb, occasionally the line drops between spool and body. Easily fixed just an inconvenience when fishing.10lb Braided line works fine no issues.I have a few abu garcia baitcaster reels and this is as smooth as they get. A good versatile reel in my opinion.

Probably will not last as long as a real Ambassadeur but very impressive for casting light lures..Small and very lightweight with easy to adjust casting controls.

This is my first Abu reel & I am impressed! I wanted a second (inexpensive) bait casting reel to go along with my Shimano Curado DC. For around $100 CDN, the AG Pro Max is pretty impressive . . . it casts well (15 lb Power Pro braid), it’s very light, well made & has a smoooth drag! I highly recommend this reel!!
