Solid and Reliable
It's a nice lock. A bit heavy for general use on a lightweight bike, but depending on where you're going, it's nice to have a sturdy lock. Appearance is everything with bike locks. Get one with a recognizable name. Hopefully it will never be tested. The lock does its job best when it discourages anyone from testing it.

Quality lock, good design
This would've been 5 star if it works for my electric scooter - unfornately not and had to return it. Lock is designed for bike, I realized. I like the compact storage pouch to tuck neatly to the frame when not in use.

Great portable bike lock
The Master Lock Orange Hardened Steel Link Folding Bike Lock has proven to be a practical and secure solution for my daily cycling needs. It strikes a great balance between portability, ease of use, and decent security, making it perfect for quick stops.**Pros:**- **Portability:** The compact, foldable design is the standout feature. It easily fits into my bag or clips onto the bike frame without adding too much bulk or weight. While it's relatively large when folded (about the size of a water bottle), it's still more convenient than lugging around a traditional U-lock or chain. Plus, it comes with a sturdy, easy-to-install holder for your bike, which keeps the lock securely in place without rattling.- **Ease of Use:** Setting up and locking the bike is quick and easy. The foldable links provide enough length to secure both the frame and wheel to a variety of fixed objects. The locking mechanism is smooth, and the links, though a bit stiff, are still easy to manage. I got the key model, which comes with a spare key, and the keys feel like they’re sturdy enough to resist picking.**Cons:**- **Flimsiness:** Although the lock is made of hardened steel, it does feel a bit less robust than heavier-duty locks. However, this seems to be the trade-off with most portable and budget-friendly options. While it’s not the most secure lock out there, it offers enough protection for quick stops in lower-risk areas.- **Weight:** If you’re concerned about saving weight on your bike, this lock might be a bit heavy. It’s definitely heavier than traditional rope locks, so checking the weight in the product listing might be worth it if that's a concern for you.**Security:** This lock provides solid basic security. It's not going to stop a determined thief with the right tools, but it's a good deterrent for casual theft. Compared to traditional rope-style locks, it feels much sturdier and harder to break.**Overall:** I’m really happy with this lock. It's a definite upgrade from the old rope locks I've used before, and it gives me peace of mind when leaving my bike unattended. While it may not offer top-tier security, it's perfect for quick errands or locking up in less risky areas. All in all, a great addition to my cycling gear that I'd highly recommend!

Compact bike lock--great secondary deterrent
Master Lock is, of course, a well known and respected lock brand. When I saw that they came out with a portable, foldable bike lock I was all for it.These larger foldable locks are much more secure than the traditional cable locks. It might not be as secure as a coated chain, but this is much lighter and more transportable. If you're worried about carrying around extra pounds (most bikers are) this is a nice portable option. This should be used more as a deterrent--or at least as a secondary bike lock. Ideally, you'd have a u-lock attached to something immoveable, and this folding bike lock snaked through your front tire and frame and anchored to another fixed point. If you have an expensive bike, you want to have at least two different bike locks with two different locking mechanisms. This coupled with another more durable lock would be a great deterrent.Any lock is breakable with enough time, but if you have multiple forms of locks then thieves are more likely to pass your bike by for an easier target. Do make sure (as the instructions state) that you have all the points of the lock elevated and unable to reach the ground. If a portion of the folding lock can be wedged against the ground, it's a lot easier to pry/kick open.

Good quality lock
This is a really nice, solid lock. It looks like it would be hard to break, and it likely is, but the appearance alone acts as a deterrent. Worked fine on my bike, but it may be a different experience for you depending on the thickness of your frame. Should be fine for most.
