Beautiful flavour and the mother-of-vinegar is great for seeding new vinegar fermentations
This is a pint (American) bottle of apple cider vinegar from the Bragg's brand. It is an unfiltered, unpasteurised product that is heavily laden with mother-of-vinegar. This is a very useful starter-culture for making your own vinegars, which is why I procured it. It can also be used in making dressings for salads etc - the mother-of-vinegar is harmless and if you don't like the texture, you can strain it out, though it will re-grow over time. This product has an excellent, fresh apple flavour, and a LOT of acidity - it's very sharp indeed! It can be used to make a refreshing drink by diluting it about 1:10 in cold water and adding a touch of honey, sugar or agave syrup to sweeten it - but don't drink it any stronger as it's not very palatable. Some people drink it neat thinking there are health benefits but there have been a number of cases of major damage to the esophagus so it is to be avoided! There is so much absurd hype about apple cider vinegar... To be very clear about what this product actually is, it's nothing magical or miraculous - it's apple juice that has been fermented using yeasts to make ethanol (alcohol) and then fermented further using bacteria from the genus Acetobacter to make acetic acid - this results in something that still tastes a bit like applejuice, but is very acidic - this is no different from any other kind of vinegar really - wine vinegars, malt vinegars, apple vinegars, they're all made the same way and contain the same bacteria, more or less. What is different in this specific product is that the mother-of-vinegar is left intact - that is to say, a leathery membrane or veil made of bacterial cellulose and Acetobacter cells. It is usually removed by filtration but you can it in old half-used bottles of malt vinegar quite frequently. It's harmless, but it's also not magical as some would have it. It's just cellulose and bacteria. The theory amongst some goes that consuming apple cider vinegar, specifically the mother-of-vinegar therein, can act as a probiotic, improving gut health, can aid weight loss or can even help manage diabetes - dangerous claims, of course, and mostly used to peddle products to the vulnerable and desperate - it's not a panacea, it's not miraculous and it's not worth the risk of messing with diabetes management plans, for example. To date ZERO clinical trials can back up these folk-medicine uses. Sure, you'll see a few people with anecdotal claims but that is all that they are.

Brilliant. Also
I started taking ACV in a carrot and kale juice every day about 4 months ago. I now have very little appetite and eat very little and certainly don't get any cravings or get tempted by anything. Consequently the weight is falling off. Brilliant. Also, I suffered from acid during the day for which I was taking endless antacid tablets and, worse, I had acid reflux at night. I was getting really depressed about it because I had to sleep upright and I kept getting woken up (I will spare you the details, suffice to say... gross). I read up on the condition and many people said it was due to being too alkaline, not too acidic. Counter intuitive, I know. I thought I had nothing to lose to try, so did as they suggested and started taking 2 tablespoons of ACV a day in water. Wow. Hideous. I just could NOT drink it. I switched to the carrot juice and kale, added the ACV and hey presto, within a couple of days no more acid and no more acid reflux. I can sleep with one pillow again, I sleep like the dead and wake refreshed and happy. A long review, I know, but I want to spread the joy. This product saved my sanity. Always buy ACV with the mother and always buy organic.

Works
been reading / hearing a lot about ACV almost to the point I thought It a meme that wasn't going to have any added benefit. I'm already pretty fit and lean so I figured I'd give It a go see what benefits it gives me If any at all and I could dismiss it If not.I'll be honest i have only noticed one benefit but that one Is a biggie. I don't get half as hungry half as quickly as I did and I've only been taking it for two weeks (I just quater fill a shot glass once a day and knock it back) I do still eat the same meals as i usually do though, I just feel a lot less ravenous about them - in fact some days I don't even fancy them when i'd normally be almost In pain waiting for them. Two weeks Is too early to tell if I've lost any fat and I'm not actually trying to, just after the health benefits but If I do notice any fat loss or any other positives I will update this.Thanks.
