Great nostalgic romp through England in the Middle Ages!
I rented this on Amazon for nostalgic purposes. Let me set the scene. It was a Saturday in my flat in London and my girlfriend and I (both 30 years old) had just nailed a day of housework and DIY (with the standard arguments that come with doing jobs with your partner). We had made up at the end of the day with a fantastic homemade meal and some Line of Duty. After we'd finished the 2nd series of line of Duty (that naughty Lindsey Denton), I left the sofa to put the kettle on only to come back to my gf asleep on the sofa. I didn't want to disturb her so I started to flick through Amazon for something a little light hearted to counteract the cop on cop crime of Line of Duty. I opted for sword in the stone, something I hadn't seen for about 25 years. It was great! Merlin and his owl were a classic comic pair and the artwork of the Disney studios is amazing. It's pretty dated though, I mean Arthur has the standard American accent and his bro and Dad have terrible English accents, but aside from the Americanised view of England in the Dark Ages, the film was thoroughly enjoyable.

I bought it because it has the italian dubbed version on it and I am very happy to listen to what I used to listen when I was a kid. Wonderful memories.

A Classic!!!
A great copy! And a great cartoon. I watched this when I was a child. When you watch it again as a grown up, you realise some of the songs have a moral to it. Great catchy songs. You have a mad madam mim, merlin and talking owl.

British legend
"The Sword in the stone" is a feel-good movie about the ophan boy called Wort. Together with the magician Merlin he experiences what it's like to be a fish, a squirrel, a bird and many other funny things. A British legend through the eyes of Disney. Can be seen by children from around 7 y old. Enjoy!
