Great Size
When home embroidery/sewing machines came out in the 1980s, supplies and notions for doing the machine embroidery were pretty nonexistent. I heard of women using coffee filters as a stabilizer. As we didn't drink coffee I didn't have any to try them out with embroidery. Then stabilizers began to be produced for the home market. I'm sure stabilizers on 100+ yards rolls were most likely being made for mass market. When stabilizers began to be made for the home market they came out as big sheets. Rolls also started coming out and were expensive. If I recall correctly, those rolls cost around what a roll of stabilizer does now. With inflation, a $20 roll of stabilizer in 1985 would be $58 now! I was very frugal with my stabilizer for obvious reasons. Trying to cut out the stabilizer to the right size left it looking like Swiss cheese along with unusable pieces as they would be too narrow to fit a hoop. I very much appreciate that most stabilizers now come in sizes that go with the sizes of the hoops you may have. While you can get rolls, I prefer flat sheets that were pre-cut to size, although stabilizer on a roll is good to use if you are embroidering a table runner, etc.I was very happy to see this size of stabilizer as they fit the small hoops on two of my embroidery/sewing machines. I actually have three different types of these machines, but one is for emergencies if one machine breaks down. To use these, I won't have to cut up some larger pieces of stabilizer so that I am not wasting any of it. I really hate storing leftover pieces of stabilizer as the drawer with them becomes a big mess. I doubt that I will be using it to embroider on caps, but it will come in handy to embroider names, etc. on tops.I appreciate the oportunity to try this stabilizer. Thank you.

Less waste when using small hoops - 10 stars here
My small business owns a multi-needle and a flat bed embroidery machine, so the right stabilizer, in the right size, makes a big difference in cost basis. Cutting 10, 12, or 18 inch wide stabilizer when I only need to use a 3 x 5 hoop gets wasteful of both time and materials, so when I saw this roll of 4 inch wide stabilizer, I jumped on it. The stabilizer is top quality - it worked perfectly with embroidering the back of a hat. Once the embroidery was finished, the stabilizer tore off cleanly and easily, leaving the back of the design completely intact. The 4 inch width fits four of my multi-needle hoops. I can see that it will work very well with the bigger hat frame (which I don't yet have), but doesn't quite fit my flat cap hoop. I would love to see this made as a fusible and also as a sticky stabilizer in addition to this - I would buy all three in a heartbeat! I love getting top quality at a cost-effective price!

Nice Big Roll of 3oz Stiff Tearaway for Caps
I do hundreds of ball caps every year for baseball teams and others. Generally, I buy pre-cuts that are 4"x 8" and usually 3 or 3.5oz weights. This roll is 100 yards, so it would equal 450 pieces of 8" long backing. So for the price, this is a great deal. I really do not mind cutting my own because I use different sized pieces depending on the design that I am embroidering. This tears away cleanly, is a good weight, and will serve me needs very well.

Very good quality
This stabilizer is great for embroidering caps. The width is perfect for the height of cap designs, and since it is a roll, the exact length can be cut. It is heavy enough for normal weight designs and can be easily double for those heavier stitch outs. Good value.

A great weight for hats
This is a good weight stabilizer to use with hats. the four inch width is perfect too. It tears away easily and leaves a clean finish. I like to use two layers, just to be sure, so the price is great for me. I have used Brothread products before, and have never been disappointed.

Perfect size for caps. Tears cleanly.
Review for New Brothread Tearaway Embroidery Stabilizer Backing for Caps and Hats - 4" x 100 Yd Roll.4" is the perfect size for a cap driver. The roll is the better value for the price, if you don't mind cutting pieces to size. The heavier weight is good for dense stitch outs, such as those for 3D puff embroidery or for larger designs.

Nice product, works well
I’m impressed with this product. It’s nothing like I expected it to be. I imagined that it would be very thick and heavy, and I was concerned that instead of being helpful it would be a chore for my machine to sew through it. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it. Instead, it looks and feels like a crisp, sturdy paper-like product and despite its firmness, it’s very flexible. It’s thin, but it adds plenty of stability. It also looks and feels like it would be difficult to remove, but it still tears away easily.
