Straight Trash
The media could not be loaded. Ive been building cars for years so i decided to do some more DYI stuff for my pontoon boat. install was pretty straight forward, instructions were not the best but i was able to figure it out. The fluid filling and air bleeding took 10X longer than i thought it should have but eventually worked.During my first test on the water i noticed a small leak coming from the seal behind the wheel. by the end of the 20 minute test it was leaking very badly with every turn and as soon as i got back on the trailer it would leak with out turning the wheel and drip fluid all over the deck and into the bilge. (See video)To amazons credit, they sent me a replacement so i swapped the pump, re filled and blead the lines (it was much easier with the new pump). now the "new" pump leaked even worse from the same spot than the last. I'm a week past the Amazon return window so no option for them to help.Lesson learned, ill be ordering the Bay Star name brand and saving my self the headache of trying to get this to work. between the 2 broken units, fluid, time and aggravation I've already blown through the $$ i was going to save with this. I figured since we never go over 5mph on my little pond this would be good enough.Learn from my mistakes.

Best customer service
Bought it in the summer decided to install it during the winter when I had some down time everything went on nicely went to prime the system and the steering cylinder leaked in the back out of the seal called the company they were going to send me a replacement cylinder ended up sending me a hole new setup didn't expect that and got it in 3 days installed the new one no leaks.

Defective product, returned!
We paid a certified mechanic to install it, only to find out that the part was defective, thereby not allowing the fluid to move through the part. We ended up having to pay the mechanic to uninstall it and purchase another one (brand name this time at a much higher cost - 5x). Thankfully, the return process was easy and we were given a full refund.

Save your money
I knew this was too good to be true, the helm shaft leaks like crazy. What I didn’t realize is that it also allows air into the system thru the terrible shaft seal. This thing almost killed me the first time I took it out on the water when steering was lost. Amazon told me I would have to contact the seller for a warranty claim. Yeah right, you can’t process a warranty claim with a seller you can’t get in contact with.

Love it
I would probably say I’m intermediate in terms of my skill sets. It was a three hour install for me. Game changer for my boat really like it.

not all inclusive
i recieved the package well packaged and taped. upon un packing i found it was missing 4 threaded helm mounting studs.i fabricated a stainless steel threaded rod to use as the mounting studs. the steering system installed an looks great. after hydrauic bleeding the helm steering shaft began to drip fluid. rather than remove and send back the unit i ordered a new seal kit and i will install it when it arrives. was this a pre opened/ used product..?
