Supergoop! Defense Refresh (Re) setting Mist SPF 50, 1 fl oz - Makeup Setting Spray & Face Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin with Rosemary & Peppermint Extract; Light, refreshing scent

For the record, I did not buy this for it's makeup setting properties. I was looking for a facial mist with spf to reapply all day for sun protection. I live in CA and it is basically always sunny (I know, torture). But I sunburn simply upon walking out of the house, so I need constant application all day. I hate the texture of sunscreen, hate putting it on, and didn't want to mess up the little make up I wear each day (BB cream, mascara). So I bought this only for the spf protection.I tried the COOLA Organic Suncare, Green Tea and Aloe Makeup Setting Spray, SPF 30 and the only other facial spray I could find, which was the Supergoop! SPF 50 Defense Refresh Setting Mist Sunscreen.Again, I have no idea if the makeup setting works -- I don't think I wear enough makeup to see a real difference throughout the day.I am not sure if I can really tell you if the spf part works -- I wasn't outside a lot on the times I wore them (about two weeks for each product to give them a chance).But what I can tell you is that if you have oily skin, you will HATE both the Coola and the Supergoop versions of this product. Within an hour my face is an oily mess -- even my 9 year old commented on it. And she's seem me at my very worst and thought it worth noting. And no matter how much you blot it during the day, it just gets oily again. Significantly oily. Now if you have dry skin, maybe this won't be a problem for you. If you have oily skin, save your money.For the Coola, I didn't think the spray was as fine as with the Supergoop, but they both worked well enough. You didn't actually have to rub either product in, just let it dry. As long as you stick to 12 inches from the face at application, it wasn't a problem. With Coola, I didn't have any discomfort. With the Supergoop, I had some itchiness -- not burning like some other people have mentioned, but it lasts all day and basically made me want to wash it off. I didn't, I wanted to see if the oiliness improved, but obviously it doesn't. The point is to be able to reapply as needed, and even if I didn't reapply, my face was still disgustingly oily.Sigh. So I am back to square one. I want an exclusive facial mist with spf, not the goopy body spf sprays that you then have to rub in (and not breathe in). If anyone finds one of these, let me know! :-)I gave both the Coola and Supergoop two stars because the concept is there, but the oil control factor alone would make me want to give it one star.

I have combo/oily sensitive skin and I have purchased so many sunscreens for my face that either did not work well or made me break out. I am so happy I found Supergoop! I was skeptical reading the reviews about the product being oily and heavy - I disagree. I usually start my daily facial routine with the Mario Badescu moisturizer with spf 28. I reapply supergoop "over my makeup" throughout the day if I am out and about in the sun. I've used it hiking, swimming and playing tennis! I will be purchasing a second bottle. I live in San Diego so I carry this in my purse everywhere I go! 😆

Unless you are spraying directly in hair and super close to face which it says SHAKE! And to Mist in circular motion across face 8-10” away from face!!! It worked greatThe sprayer was claimed to be defective: false. Unless they got a defective item, my sprayer was a mist. And works great!The scent: it smells wonderfully like a suncreen should. and the size is a generous size for a travel or your purse!I use other supergoop products and this one will be another repurchase!

I love the concept of the spray sunscreen, but not this one. If you get it in your hair, which is impossible not to do unless you literally cover your hair PAST your hairline with a towel tightly wrapped ALL the way around your head (so including below the ears and back of neck) it completely ruins your hair. It makes it crunchy like bad hairspray, but somehow even worse than that. It makes it looked like you haven't washed your hair in days. I couldn't figure out why my heart was looking so bad every day even though I had washed it the night before because normally I can go 3-4 days without a wash. I finally realized it was THIS stuff that was screwing it up. Unless you bring a huge towel to completely cover your head with you whenever you leave the house, there's absolutely no way to reapply it without instantly regretting it. You could spray it in your hands then rub it on your face, but that defeats the entire purpose of the spray. The only thing I will say is that it smells good, but that's the ONLY thing I liked. I'm hoping to find a better brand because I was super bummed about this one.

I apply this about 1/2 hour before going out into the sun for an extended period of time over my makeup. Obviously with a face full of makeup, smearing sunscreen will ruin everything. This product allows me to keep my makeup intact while protecting my skin. Because it is a sunscreen mist, be prepared to have a very fine, sheer white mist over your skin. Having used this product for over a year, my skin has not broken out. I like the rosemary scent very much - very refreshing. Be careful when applying that it doesn't get on your hair because it will make it greasy, just like regular sunscreen. One thing I do not like is that the product clumps inside the bottle around the opening. Make sure to shake well before use.

Terrible, Just terrible. Is the one thing I bought this year that gives me buyer's regret. The spray doesn't come out as a fine mist so it is difficult to spray in a correct manner. Makes skin sticky even hours later. And whatever you do, do not let it get in your hair. It clumps up and gives your hair a gritty feeling. What is worse is that this is not an item you can return on Amazon.

Cute packaging!Pros:- The mist function is really a nice mist vs. a spray like others turn out when they claim “mist”.- Light and refreshing with a nice but not too strong scent.Cons:Like others mentioned, if it gets in your hair it makes it stiff. I thought it would be fine if I try to cover my hair with my arm but it still gets it. I will now try to cover my hair with a Towel.

Thethe pump broke on the third use. I am very disappointed because I thought to use the product regularly after makeup. I think it's a manufacturing defect. I'd like the idea very much, but it was a fail.

Currently on the market this is the only "spray on" sunscreen you can put overtop of your makeup. It's not perfect, but it does the job and so that's why I give it 5 stars. I spray it LIBERALLY (not just one spray like on the videos) but I spray 10-12 times all over my face and neck, over top of a full face of makeup and I feel protected from the suns harmful rays. Sunscreen should be applied every 2 hours to protect the skin, so I buy this regularly. Good job Super gooP!

Love this sunscreen, it doesn’t feel like one at all! So thankful that this product is on amazon India because their website doesn’t ship here. I wish they had a larger size but other than that you’ll be sure to find it as amazing as I do. It’s super light and the fragrance is extremely mild. Just be sure to follow the instructions given on the bottle. Will be repurchasing it again!

Purchased two of these for an upcoming vacation... haven't used this daily yet, but I did test it.. I have to say I love the idea of being able to add SPF to my already done up face with full makeup. BUT when I sprayed this product, it seems to come out in an uneven weird stream.. not the same feeling as if you were to spray a Makeup forever or Urban Decay setting spray..It says on the bottle that with time the nozzle can collect product and cause it to not distribute properly (something along those lines) so to avoid that you need to run the nozzle under hot water... tried that, but it didn't work for me. Still comes out in this weird funky stream lol.Sooo even though this stuff sucks when I put it on... I'm still going to use it because this is the only setting spray I've found with high SPF in it or any SPF at all for that matter.. I need something quick to reapply because I refuse to re-powder my face with my spf powder every 2 hours.

A great way of adding extra SPF protection over make-up when you are out and about. Lovely refreshing rosemary and mint fragrance acts as a real pick me up.
