DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!
If you are in AA, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! You should buy your book directly from AA, because that’s the book you will be working out of. Very upset that I cannot return this book. The book that you use in the AA program is probably only $10 through AA..

Paperback dark-gray version appears to be the 2nd edition
Just a heads up for folks... the "Special 2013 Edition" that received paperback with the dark gray cover appears to be the 2nd Edition, according to my expert friend. Considering the 4th Edition of the Big Book was published in 2001, according to the AA website. You can look for the ISBN of this book on the web (978-1483907253), and notice that several publishers other than Lark Publishing appear to have made this book in 2013. I'm not an expert on publishing or the publishing of the Big Book, so I can't say what's going on here; I'm just pretty disappointed in this copy. Also, the cover is very dark, to the point where I had to put a label on the spine in order to identify the book on the shelf! If you just want to read the latest version of the Big Book, you can go to the AA website and read it there online; if you want a print copy, I'm planning on going to a meeting, getting one there, and giving a donation - or order the yellow and blue book.

Horrible Copy of a Great Book
This version is a COPY of the BIG BOOK. The cover is glossy black paper - not blue. The pagination is different from the OFFICIAL BIG BOOK which makes following along during group study impossible. The type is small. This printing is also missing the FOREWORD TO THIRD EDITION and the FOREWORD TO THE FOURTH EDITION. If you are looking for the BIG BOOK that the elders in AA are carrying around, this is not it. Disappointed.

Page numbers DO NOT MATCH, terrible book for studying!
Hey Everyone before you buy this particular book you must know the page numbers are not the same as the OG book!!! I had to rebuy the big book with the appropriate page numbers to correctly follow along (my sponsor made me, but saw her point). the serious student / participator of AA reference the big book heavily by Page numbers so buyer beware. If you want it only as a reference great. But to study and to find those epic quotes that old timers and members speak in don’t do it. We all know that the first 164 pages of the big book are the meat and potatoes this book’s first 164 is only 90 pages! Plus the Forwards are not numbered right either, It just doesn’t make sense what this publisher did.But I do love How anonymous this book is!

Not the official AA version
This was a disappointing purchase. I bought it to be a part of a phone 12-step study group and the pages are not the same as they are in the AA version of the book. Makes it nearly impossible to follow along. Will give to a charitable organization and buy the official book, Alcoholics Anonymous. A wasted buy!

Doesn't match page numbers of group
Love the book but this copy does not match up with the page numbers of the folks on my phone call. I already had the free digital version downloaded from the Aa website and bought the physical copy in hopes of being able to match up on page numbers. 😭

NOT an AA edition.
This publisher is not known at any of the AA meetings and the book's pagination is different than everyone else's "Big Book of AA". I had to purchase the correct version elsewhere.

Not the full big book.
I assumed this was the complete Big Book but I was mistaken. It's a condensed "special" edition. I knew it was a special edition but was completely unaware of the fact that it's missing quite a bit of content.

it is an amazing book. For years it was my equivalent of ...
I have studied this book as part of my recovery in 12-step groups. The book is a text book about how to work 12-step recovery. It may also give hope to a newcomer who is suffering and hopefully bring them to AA.It's very 'male' and somewhat 'old-fashioned', but if you can look beyond that, it is an amazing book. For years it was my equivalent of a 'bible'. I now bought it as an e-book to read when on the go.

Fantastic for beginners and oldtimers
Fantastic if you are someone who looks for differences. Great...... Has spurred on many of my friends of Bill and mine to enjoy studying again. It'll blow you away. And it's cheap.
