I haven't tested it to its limits but it is smooth and works pretty darn well. It's heavy duty enough for what I need it for but I would probably spend a lot more money for something of a brand name if I was relying on it for heavy heavy duty stuff or using it all of the time. For occasionally pulling out stumps or moving logs it's pretty good. I imagine it would work for pulling out four wheelers and maybe small side by sides but I don't really know. If I was in the back country and it was the difference between being stuck for the night or going home, I might get a bigger one. Works perfectly for what I need it for though.

I was pleased to see how well built this wench was out of the box, however, upon using it for the first time, the cable slipped off the grooved roller and completely locked up. Not sure how that happened, but we were able to fix it the next day. I'm on the fence with this one, I don't think I can recommend it at this time. When we use it again, I'll do an update to this review.

I have owned a few come-alongs in my time, and this one is well-built but has a very short retraction of about five feet. The listing indicated a 12' cable, and granted, it does. However, it is doubled over with the pulley and hook. This offers more pulling capacity but does shorten the retraction. So, depending on your needs, this may or may not work for your application; keep this in mind.Outside of that, I like the triple-plated gears and the heavy cable. It is built to pull heavy loads, they indicate two tons. The handle is just plastic and may crack in time. I believe it could be a handy device to get you out of a bind.

I have a Come Along... somewhere, but I can't find it, so when this became available it was the right thing at the right time. I have a project car that I needed to move out of the garage and down the driveway for various reasons. The car is only about 3100 pounds but that's still too heavy for me to move on my own against the uphill slope of the driveway and back into the garage.I have installed a removable hoop on the garage floor and now I just "winch" the car back into the garage with one side of the Come Along attached to the hoop and the other to straps around the rear axle. It's now a piece of cake for a one man operation.The instructions are typical poor Chinese / English translations, but if you have ever used a Come Along or even a ratchet strap in the past you'll be able to figure it out with no problems. And even if you haven't used those things in the past the illustrations in the instructions should be enough to get you going.

This is a great deal at under 30 bucks. I do have a much better, heavy duty version but that is a heavy item. I needed one that was light to carry, easy to set up but still was able to pull a couple of tons. This one fits the bill perfectly. The ratchet is made up of three plates, placed side by side, instead of a solid block, but it still works just fine. After all, this isn't a ten-ton winch. Most of what i need it for (like pulling the occasional utv out of a ditch or the odd log out of the way, etc.) is well within its capability. It needed a few spots of lubrication here and there when i first received it but, after that, it runs fine.All told, this is a really handy tool that works well at a bargain price.

This come along is perfect for my needs, with a 12 foot cable it was perfect for pulling a toolbox up a loading ramp. Capacity is perfect for any of my needs. Really good price compared to what you'll find in stores, if you can find one at all locally which I had trouble doing.
