Minerals Poster 24x36 Pretty Rocks!

I saw this poster originally at a science museum in Minnesota during a visit there and went to purchase it for my classroom but was greatly disappointed to know they were out of it and wouldn't have more until a later date. Apparently, this poster is very popular! So, during my late-night search on Amazon, I FOUND IT! The price was similar to what it was in the science gift shop (minus the tax) and is the coolest collection of pictures of minerals I have ever found! WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE! My students will spend tons of time just looking at it and analyzing the pictures and detail of all the colorful minerals. It truly is the best collection I have seen yet! My 7th graders love it!

I had to buy this poster twice. The first time it got mangled pretty badly by the laminating machine. I hung it up anyway while I was waiting on the second to arrive. My students noticed it immediately and anytime any of them is near it they can't help but look at it and look at the names and try to decide which one is their absolute favorite. I made a list of some of the mineral's chemical formulas because my students were struggling with the concept of what a compound was. I saw a lot of lightbulbs going off when they realized that each of these minerals looks different because they are made up of different atoms in various configurations. Great teaching tool because it is SO beautiful.

My daughter (9 years old) has been obsessed with rocks and minerals for a while. She loves this poster. The specimins are beautifully photographed - we like looking at them and seeing what else they look like. (That one looks like broccoli! That one looks like a mushroom!) The poster is high quality and glossy. I like how a lot of the minerals are more obscure - this goes way beyond your common quartz, gemstones, etc.

My son loves rocks and loves this rock poster. So it’s a win. It actually is a very cool poster. Well made, bright, and very informative.

I purchased this for my 5 year old grandson. The Pictures are great but there are some serious flaws. Would have contacted seller but couldn't find how to.Cons: The descriptions reads:1) " All posters are printed on very heavy, high-quality paper. It is also a very hard paper that preserves tiny details. Posters are then specially coated to provide a satin finish that reduces glare and enhances their presentation. "2) "ships quickly and safely in a sturdy protective tube"Ok.. all sounds good till you find the poster is rolled up from start to finish in a taped brown paper wrapper that when you start to unwrap.. you find the poster itself is a very flimsy, easily tear-able material.. so the end result is a long swirl of town brown wrapping and poster shred combo. Unless your a real fan of tons of repair tape and a lot of time...Yes , the tube it shipped in was very sturdy, but the inner packing's/protection combined with a extremely thin poster made this one Christmas gift that ended up trash binned and a sad grandma and grandchild.

Redoing his room and this is one of the posters he had to have. It arrived in perfect condition and looks so much better in person.

My son loves this poster because the minerals are pictured larger and clearly. You can really see the detail which is went crazy over. It was a great addition to his rock collection.
