String Quartets by Debussy and Ravel: Quartet in G Minor, Op. 10/Debussy; Quartet in F Major/Ravel (Dover Chamber Music Scores)

A small but excellent resource for delving into two of the most interesting string quartets written in the last 125 years. Highly recommended in companionship to Dover's compilations of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven's string quartets.

Excellent source of music for the performance. It went well and we were happy to have the score for reference.

If you are considering playing either of these difficult quartets, you need this score. The spacing of notes is excellent and helpful as the rhythms are often complex. The score is large enough to play from at the piano. A Glossary of French Terms is included which is helpful as not all the musical instructions are found in standard music dictionaries.

This is the definitely the edition to buy if you're studying/playing either of these two quartets. It's a reprint of the Durand edition, so it's about as official as you can get. and CHEAP, too! It's a nice small size- sort of halfway between a normal paperback book and a standard big Dover score.

The re-print is very bad; it is very difficult to see if the accidentals are naturals or sharps in most cases.

Good to get the Debussy/Ravel String Quartet Cd, Emerson of course, and this handy book.Good for composition to study and easy to open.Go for it~!

This is just not the way to send a book.Non è il modo di mandare un libro, è piegato e consumato.Ad ogni modo, il libro di per sé è assai utile per la lettura, meno per l'esecuzione, avrebbe altrimenti bisogno di parti staccate anziché un'unica partitura.Buon libro, anche la copertina è assai bella, se non fosse così consumata.

Durchwegs schlecht gedruckt. Versetzungszeichen, Hilfslinien, Angaben zu Artikulation und Tempo oft kaum lesbar. Kauf nur wegen des Preises gerechtfertigt.
