McDermott Lucky L9 Pool Cue

It is a fancy wood cue stick, but it plays good.

I have owned other cues and I’m sure that this cue could easily be called “THE best cue value out there”, as for the money it is OUTSTANDING.

Great intermediate stick. Should Cost more.

The cue butt itself is nice. It has good weight, I like the design, it is a keeper. The only thing that worries me is the metal to wood joint (the butt has the metal threads, the shaft has a wood thread opening). I have begun to break the cue in, but I am getting a vibration at impact, and I don't particularly care for vibration like that when I shoot. It may go away as the cue gets worn in. I can easily remedy this with a replacement customized shaft, which is what I intend to do, but I'm picky like that. All in all I would say it's a good cue at a great price, I would recommend it for someone looking for their first quality cue.

The best way that I can describe just how satisfied I am with this cue (the L9).... I received this afternoon and this evening I ordered the L12 and the McDermott 4" extension

Great cue for the price, beautiful Finnish only found two things wrong with it one is a bit of over glue on the bottom part of the wrap I can see it and feel it when i whold the cue and though I like wood to wood contact I still like to see a metal treth insteth of wood treths on the shaft. It would have been a 4 star all day with metal treths on the shaft. Over all is a straight cue and gets the job done.

Excellent cues for even double the price. Bought two of these to use as our "house cues" and let me tell you that they destroy any type of house cue I ever used at a pool hall. Purchased two 19oz cues and they play great and look great too. Highly recommended.
