Beautiful bed, a pain to assemble at first
This box was insanely heavy. My husband and I could not lift it so we just pushed and shoved it to get it to our apartment. If your apartment doesn’t have an elevator, or you need to get this box up stairs, forget it. Our apartment has a freight elevator and this tall box barely fit by a one inch margin. It comes with the tools you need. Following the instructions actually made it harder to assemble. We had to disassemble one side of the headboard piece to get the bars to fit. So I recommend assembling the right side of the headboard and then the left or you’ll have to undo the screws many times. It looks beautiful after all is done. Ours didn’t have the end caps though. We’re we’re still waiting on our furniture from movers so we only have a queen air mattress currently but seems to fit fine. You need at least 2 people to assemble this or it might be dangerous.

Daughters Happy; Achievement Unlocked
Bed came boxed and packed pretty securely. Heavy beast of a thing, so be sure to have some help. I screwed up big time ordering this bed, which is designed for a box spring. Seriously, who uses box springs anymore? Anyway, after doing a mass buy of new beds for my 3 kids and a guest room, I was so focused on looks and reviews mentioning sturdiness that I overlooked that important part.Realizing this AFTER I unboxed it, having built 2 other platform canopy beds and noticing no steel slats/rods... my heart sunk. Refusing to go out to buy box springs for her foam mattress, off to furniture/mattress stores I went for slats. No one carries them and I wasn’t about to travel 50 miles to ikea for their drop in slats. Off to Home Depot I went, got twelve 53.8” boards cut and nylon rope to staple down each side to roll up the slats in the future. Done!.... Crap, they don’t drop in cause there’s no support along the frame to hold the slats.Went back to Home Depot, because NO ONE gets everything they need for the project the first time. Found 72” steel flat bars I could use as lips and center support for the slats. Used Velcro in the underside to keep them in place and bam, now I’m done. Now this bed, which was really sturdy and heavy, just got armored up as the slats gave this more rigidity and weight. It’s actually now more solid than my other daughters canopy beds.Would buy again, but will likely never have to. If I did, it would have to be a platform version this time.

Good
The bed is good, but the canopy is very short compared to most. It’s very stable and looks great, except for the height. I do like the fact that I can use my box spring as well as my mattress..

Beautifully Gold Painted Bed.
This bed is better than I expected. Beautiful gold finish definitely not brass which is great! Easy to put together if you read the instructions. Bed comes with all screws needed along with one allen wrench and that’s the only tool you’ll need. Assembly is easy if you have two people. The canopy is kind of lower than expected and I’m 5’11 so I’m worried about hitting my head on the top rails if I’m not careful. It’s still a great bed and I’m very pleased.
