Actually is such a help
Our daughter has intellectual disabilities and a bit of a tremble...this helps a lot.Others include the knife but, not needed. This individual fork is just right.

It works
I lost in the lottery as to who in my family would or would not inherit a moderate tremor that tends to become detectable sometime in the late 50s or early 60s and starts to interfere with activities that demand a rock steady hand after another decade or so—for those family members unlucky enough to have managed to inherit the trait. Nobody knows the cause. Regardless of all that, one effect at mealtimes was that now and then a bit of food balanced atop a fork, or even in a full spoon, would fall off during moments of inattention—not enough to interfere with eating; but it happened often enough to cause embarrassment when the dropped food would land on a shirt front, lap, or floor. I decided to try the added-mass fork and spoon. My first fear, that they would be ugly and clumsy to handle did not materialize. They actually look quite sleek, and they really do work. Although their added mass doesn't eliminate the tremors, it has toned down the movement enough to pretty well eliminate the food dropping problem—at least at my present stage of the game. There's one caution. They ARE heavy—each weighing somewhat more than a small finishing hammer we keep in our kitchen tool drawer. You don't want to casually toss either utensil into a sink full of soaking dishes. I think it would also be wise to guard against falls onto laminate or other flooring that might be subject to chipping or denting. If a tremor is so sever that ice cream intended for the mouth often ends up in the eye, these utensils will probably not help very much. But for the considerable number of people for whom a developing tremor is at a stage where it is just starting to cause problems, I recommend them highly.I have submitted an identical review separately for both the fork and spoon.

Great Quality
Dads hand still shakes when eating sometimes, however it’s a HUGE help compare to him eating with regular metal forks or worse plastic utensils…

Worked beautifully
My dad is a Vietnam veteran Marine who had been exposed to Agent Orange, consequently now he experiences tremors in his hands and arms. I got him this fork and the matching teaspoon to see if they would help ease his meals. Worked! They are longer than our regular eating ware and, naturally, heavier--but the combination makes them do what they are supposed to. Obviously, they can't make all the shaking stop, but they did make it so he could eat without concern. Depending on the severity of your shaking, you may or may not experience the same successful results. Anyway, he is happy and I got hugged. :)Going to buy more of these (the knife and the soup spoon), as well as additional copies--so while one set is in the wash, he's still got the others. I'm really grateful to whoever came up with this nice looking set and to Amazon for making them available to me even in a small town, he did some truly heroic saves and sacrifices as a Marine and being able to help him now even in so little a way really meant a lot to me.

Dreamland Flatware
In a world where weighted silverware screams, "I've Got A Problem", enter KEatlery, the flatware of tomorrow.Seriously, though, KEatlery weighted utensils are gorgeously formed, only slightly larger than the average flatware set and beautifully useful. They balance perfectly even in my smaller hand, while successfully reducing unwanted activity in that hand.Dishwasher safe and shiney, each utensil is sold seperately [most often] and a full set will cost just under 50 dollars. If you have a need of weighted utensils, you will be very pleased with these. They can be taken anywhere, but they look like the average set and therefore aid in integration. The 'teaspoon' has a deep bowl I wouldn't recommend using as a measuring spoon. The soup spoon has a slight lip. Both features help prevent spillage. The tines on the fork are proportionate to the size. The knife is great for spreading and sports the typical grade for cutting.I find the weight perfect for my purposes. They are never too light, but do not exacerbate fatigue.I highly recommend KEatlery. An attractive product such as this could improve your life more than you may have guessed.

Confidence restored!
I have "Essential Tremors". These utensils are perfectly shaped to pick up food and transport it to my mouth with confidence, though the weight is the essential element. The weight allows me to cradle the utensil loosely upon my hand, letting gravity do the real work and banishing these ****** tremors.
