Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst

If I had played Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst (MCF:R) early in my casual gaming career, i.e., before Mishap: An Accidental Haunting (great game!), I would have rated MCF:R as super cool, niffy, neat o. MCF:R is pretty cool.It is an hidden object game(HO) with some puzzles throw in. You shift among HO scenes effortlessly.The music, graphics, and sound effects are outstanding for a casual game. Voices pop up. It sounds like a haunted house soundtrack. The story is mildly interesting, just enough to keep your attention.I love the elaborate puzzles to unlock certain doors. Make sure you click on everything. I enjoy the puzzles even if they are sometimes frustrating. Did I mention I love the puzzles? They rock!I played it in relaxed mode first and now I am playing it on timed mode. I still love the puzzles.Check out the list of top agents on the main menu, see how many you can identify.

Let me start by saying I don't play video games or any games on the computer normally. I was given a game similiar to this as a gift and became hooked. Can't believe how many hours I have spent playing this. Most fun when played with a partner. Some of the clues can be challenging. Don't think I would recommend this for a child. Maybe teenager and above. Some of it is pretty mindless (just finding hidden objects). Good thing to do when chilling out in the evening after a hard day.

I like my games to be relaxing and to not have to rush to get something done, but on this game there is a timer counting down while you play -- you are required to finish certain aspects of the game before time runs out. In summary, the game has interesting features, but I was not able to enjoy them as much due to the never ending countdown.

love the MCF games

I bought this as a gift, and it runs well and was delivered in good time and in good condition. My only beef was that it was delivered with the contents labelled on the package, so the recipient knew what it was before I had a chance to wrap it. I do not recall if I was given the option to gift wrap it or at least have it delivered without the specific content labelled. My mom is enjoying the game.
