Fun, solid, and practical book safe. Great product.
ProsThis dictionary book safe has a nice, realistic lookThere is quite a bit of room insideIt is a pretty good product for the priceConsThe edges of the "pages" are plastic, making it easier to spot on the shelf if you look closelyConclusionDo not be fooled by the economical price. The cloth texture on the outside of this dictionary safe makes it virtually indistinguishable from other books on your bookshelf. The edges of the "pages" are a white plastic, so you can tell if you look closely. It feels nice and solid in your hand. I originally purchased this dictionary safe as a gift for my brother who is an avid book collector. He really loves this!It is quite practical, as well. It doesn’t look like it holds much, but there is plenty of room inside. It is basically just a hollow shell. Passports, money, or other smaller valuables fit into this little safe with no problem. It also comes with two keys. If you're considering a book safe like this, you won't be disappointed with this one. It is a "safe" bet!

I like it
I haven't owned this long enough to see if it lasts, but wanted to say that it looks better than some of the reviews are saying. Certain angles are better than others, but it does look like a book. I would not bend the cover all the way back as you don't need to, and it might damage it if you do.I bought this due to some relatives moving into our house and I don't want to risk anyone taking any money I normally have laying on my desk. Having it disguised as a book makes it less likely for them to be curious. The only negative I have about it is that there is a little gap on the bottom side of the lid. But I don't think they could get in anyways. There is a lip on the lid that goes down into the box.Update 3-22-2020. Generally this is better than nothing but recently I had my book safe stolen. Not by a normal burglar but by the moving company we hired. I hid it in my bathroom closet because I didn't want them taking it. Checking on it several times why they were there. The last time I checked, it was gone and they all denied taking it. I had roughly $1, 000 in cash in it. Pure thieves.

AWESOME BOOK AND THE BEST PRICE!!
AWESOME: I think these books are fantastic. I would definitely buy them for hiding small valuables. Before my purchase, I read several complaints about the books not looking real - or the pages not looking real, and that once you open the flap, you can see it is a safe. My guess is that most folks are not going to leave these lying around on a desk. If you look in the pictures at them on the shelf, you absolutely cannot tell they are not real books. They are positioned on the bottom row and then there is a close up of the row with the four right next to each other. There was also criticism about the locks. I don't even use the locks. If a thief is into books, takes this off the shelf, sees that it is a safe - regardless of there being a lock, the book won't be there when you get back.COMPARISON OF SEVERAL BOOKS: I bought four of these hidden book "safes." I bought different ones because it seemed there was no sense in having four of the same book on my shelf. So what I have done is laid them out next to each other so that you can see the difference. While they are all comparatively the same in length and width, the Paris book is definitely deeper. A couple had felt, but not this one. That doesn't detract from it though. The felt in the others was cheap and did not stick well to the metal sides (but is functional and serves its purpose). One benefit I found with all the books is that even though they are similar in size, each book is a different size from the other from the outside, making them look more like real books on the shelf.RESULT OF COMPARISON: Of the four I purchased, there was no difference in quality, but there was a pretty significant difference in price. I do think that the one that is deeper could warrant a higher price - but only that one. This was the cheapest of the four books I purchased and is a great book for the price!

Inexpensive way to hide "not so valuables"
First, this is an under $20 safe so my expectations were pretty low right from the get go. You probably won't be using this to store your $10,000 Tiffany diamond because if someone does discover the safe they could simply walk off with the entire safe and all it's contents, then take their good old time "safe cracking" in the comfort of their own hideout. So, my review is based exactly on that, an inexpensive way to hide some not so valuables.Out of the box the "book" looks real enough if placed on a book shelf in between other books. Lying out on a coffee table or something like that the most inexperienced thief could recognize this as something other than a book. We have a small book shelf where this fit nicely tucked between some other obscure books that nobody has looked at for years so it instantly became a safe. The pages are plastic and the front and back cover feel like book cover material. Inside is a metal locking door and the safe itself is metal lined. If you plan to store items that are metal or may rattle you may want to purchase some block foam and make a small cutout to store your treasure. Bubble wrap would also probably do the trick. I use it to store some extra cash and any gift cards. It's a great alternative to just having cash and gift cards tossed into a junk drawer. The inside usable dimensions are 5 5/8" wide x 9" tall x 1 1/2" deep. Plenty large enough for cash, jewelry, passports or even a small handgun. It comes with two keys and seems pretty sturdy. So, overall I'm very satisfied with this purchase. I think it's a great product for the price range and an excellent product for keeping "not so valuables" out of plain sight.

It does what it says
It works fine the pages look very fake so like I wouldn't count on a thief actually overlooking it but it was cheaper than all the other lockboxes. 🤷♀️
