Working well for me under Linux.
I've been using this wireless dongle under Ubuntu 12.04 Linux for around 3 months and have been very happy with it. I wasn't really looking for super high transfer speeds so much as a solid connection and the ability to use both 2.4 and 5.2GHz bands, because 2.4 can be problematic due to it having so little spectrum available and sharing it with baby monitors and cordless phones.First off, it works great with Linux. I didn't have to do any mucking around with it, it just worked. And the connection it gives seems to be as solid as my Thinkpad laptop (with the high end 3x3 Intel adapter). The only negative is that, unlike many cheaper adapters, it doesn't come with a little "stand" if you are using it with a desktop computer, to mount it to a desk or the like. For the price of this adapter, one of the most expensive I looked at, I was surprised it didn't come with one. My friend bought another adapter that was less than half the price and did come with one of those.A minor gripe, on an otherwise fantastic wireless dongle.

Made a huge difference but broke.
I could not believe how much better range and speed I could get by adding this inexpensive device to what I still think of an expensive computer; it was like having a new machine. Unfortunately, it sticks far out to the side, and the connector seems to have gotten bent....it stopped working unless I push on it....

Wireless N USB Adapter for Mac and Windows
Finding a Wireless N USB Adapter for Mac and Windows is a challenge. Apple does not offer such a product and 3rd party vendors frequently do not up front clear state "For Mac" or "For Mac and Windows PC's". My old Powerbook G4 still works fine as a secondary unit, but its manufacture antedated the release of wireless N. The old machine now chugs along a bit faster on the internet now and the old built in wireless G radio does not drag down the connection speed of my wireless N router when another user logs on to my wireless N network. The Trendnet unit woks well, however, the installation on Mac requires download of Mac OS drivers from the Trendnet web site. Trendnet still pays homage to windows by not including the drivers on the included cd. Nevertheless, the product works well at the 300 Mbps not the older 150 Mbps speed. good OOTB support in Linux, dismal range.
On 5GHz spectrum: The TTWE-664UB Very low transmit power, even when accounting for the distance limits of the spectrum. Had an SNR of 8 at a medium distance from the router in a noisy environment. In the same location, the free dongle that came with my LG TV had an SNR in the high 20s.On the 2.4GHZ spectrum: transmit power is still too low to be useful. In a noisy envioronment, The low-price no-name dongle found here:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Y6UNI6/ was able to maintain a formidable connection, but this TEW-664UB had roughly half the transmit power, resulting in an SNR that averaged around 13.This device is not worth the money. Perhaps it performs well when very close to the router, but I cannot say I tested that. If you don't need the 5GHZ capability, pick up one of the cheap dongles with the giant antennas!

A good value purchase
The unit itself works well and was easy to install. I knocked off a star (considered subtracting 2) because of the screen user interface. It is pretty flaky in my opinion. Connection status displays are mysterious (especially when there is a connection problem) with no explanation of what they mean. Requested functions often return either no success/fail return info or appear to do nothing at all.I'm happy enough with it, but wish I felt I had more control over it.

Does not work with Sony lu-ray Player BDPS370
Although this is probably a fine product, it was not compatible with my Sony Blu-ray player model BDPS370. If you're looking for a wireless receiver for that Sony, save your time and just get the brand name Sony wireless receiver...

It Works!
I found the product easy to install and it immediately connected to my network. Works like a charm when close enough to your router. Problem I have is it doesn't want to connect at 300 Mbps in the home location I desire. However, I confess I've had similar problems with previous devices I tried. I took the device on vacation with me and it worked great. I'd recommend it because it's reasonable priced and I'd say works as advertised.

Erratic package of 11n insanity
I have a bland laptop computer three years old running Windows XP Home Edition. It is middle of the road in every sense. It'll run any software, co-opt any hardware. Nothing unique. The Trendnet N adapter rejected it or it rejected the adapter. Either way it failed.Ran install off the disk. Utility installed with icon on desktop. Plugged adapter into USB port. System failed to recognize. Utility failed to launch. Rebooted with adapter plugged into port. Still no luck. Finally called Trendnet tech support. Guided me through install using native XP wizard. System recognized hardware but failed to spot the 5.0Ghz band broadcast from Netgear WNDR3700 router. Did find the 2.4GHz band. So, per support tech instructions I returned the adapter for another one.Same installation problems. Had to use native XP wizard to install driver/utility again but this time 5.0GHz SSID appeared. Utility UI primitive but did connect to 5.0GHz SSID. Sadly, over the next ten minutes adapter randomly dropped then reaquired signal multiple times. Finally connection somehow steadied but all browsers failed to find the internet.Insured problem lay with Trendnet adapter by switching to OEM wireless G adapter in computer itself. Both WAN and internet connection present.Trendnet product proved faulty--twice.I'll be avoiding Trendnet in the future.

Reichweite unakzeptabel!
