are these straws plastic?

Yes, your standard plastic straw (like the classic rainbow striped ones).

it is the standard length as sold in stores...I just wanted all pink for my grand daughters birthday party

Why does it say wash before use? I’ve been using them for months without washing. Should I worry?

To be safe, it's a good idea to wash the straws. Like you I usually don't wash the straws.

how large is the diameter of the straw?

0.6cm or 1/4" diameter. The same as the straws you can buy in a box at the grocery store.
