PowerBar Performance Energy Bar, Vanilla Crisp, 2.29-Ounce Bars (Pack of 24)

I am so sad that they discontinued making these. I always loved the vanilla and berry flavors. I hope they reconsider. They were one of the few energy bars without peanuts or other nuts that my family was allergic too. Really not sure what we are going to do now.

Yum! I love this flavor & eat these sometimes when my skating sessions are later than lunch. It really gives me energy to keep skating hard & get back to my truck. I stick one in my cargo shorts pocket & can eat a half of one easily & wrap it back up, while they can get soft & melt , they don’t turn into a big mess or anything, they still peel off the wrapper & the consistency of the bar doesn’t turn bad, or really change in texture or flavor, it just gets softer. Yummy & provides Energy

I have loved these for years, but they are getting harder and harder to find in stores. The vanilla crisp is my favorite. I used to love the oatmeal raisin, but hey discontinued that flavor. I eat one before a tennis match and it gives me energy without an over-full feeling that I would get from a meal. Or I carry one in my bag, because I can take a few bites while playing, and it will quell my hunger without making me nauseous while running around. And there's no chocolate to melt in the heat of the summer. Best of all, if you compare the calories and fat grams in a PowerBar versus other energy bars, these are far more healthy than others on the market of similar size.

It's a very sweet protein bar that has a nice flavor and a nice consistency for my liking. I will say it is fairly sticky and fairly sweet. if I were to have any complaint it would be that it is a little bit too sticky making it hard to take out of the package and it's hard to have it as an on-the-go snack because your fingers inevitably get sticky.

I've been eating these for years, back when Power Bars were so hard to chew you lost fillings you hadn't even been drilled for yet. The texture is much softer, really good actually, and so is the taste. I REALLY like these. However, they still suffer from the same issue all these years: They are so hard to peel... the center flaps rips easy enough, down the length of the bar, but it leaves the end caps on the corners that are nearly impossible to peel without touching the PowerBar itself. If you touch it you'll be sticker then Nad's hair remover. At that point just dig in, enjoy, and wash your hands when it's all over.

I enjoy the taste of this Vanilla Crisp as it's lighter than some of the fruity ones they have. My favorite was Banana but Power Bar decided to stop making that flavor.Ok... here is the only reason I gave it 3 stars. The energy bar completely sticks all over the plastic wrap! I am having to scrape it off with my teeth to eat this bar off the wrap. None of the Power Bars I've bought in the past has ever done this! So I don't if this is a defect or this is normal. And I bought 2 boxes! Oh well.

I have always been a fan of Powerbars because they give me the energy while cycling long distances. I like the vanilla crisp but the local store no longer carries them. When I found them on Amazon I decided to order a few boxes.Tonight I opened one of the 2 12 Vanilla Crisp Powerbar boxes ordered from Amazon and found the individual packages to be only 3/4 filled. I compared them to a recently grocery store purchased Peanut Butter Powerbar. The Vanilla Crisp was a full inch shorter or only 3/4 filled. Attached is a picture of the grocery store purchased Peanut Butter next to the Amazon shipped bars. The Powerbar stamped info on the boxes and bars is: best by 10FEB2018 3456 NB A 3 10:19..I have changed my reivew rating from 1 to 3 stars. I wrote Powerbar Corp. Hqs. about this issue in Sept. 2016 and again last week. Their in September was a number of coupons for Powerbars. This time the reply was that during shipment if stored in a hot enviroment. the Powerbar will shift in the package and though appearing short, they are thicker. The representative assured me that all bars are weighed prior to shipment and contain 2.29 oz. of the product.I bought a scale and weighed every bar received. Most of the bars weighed 2.3 to 2.4. However, a few of the short bars weighed 2.1 oz. So, not worth the vinegar for .1 - .2 ounces.

Not the flavor I wanted but good enough. They taste fine. I got vanilla. It’s like a very dense but soft granola bar (if you hold it horizontally it will gradually bend down towards gravity) but the granola (if that’s what it is...it just reminds me of the taste and texture) is ground up into a finer powder so it’s not chunky...sorry, that’s the best way I can describe them.
