The Mahatma brown rice cooked up beautifully. I was testing my new cook pot and rice is one of those things where you need a tight fitting lid and even heat in the latter stages of cooking.I rinsed the rice as is traditional, but very little starch came out. Old habits die hard and I rinsed 3 times, even though it was clearly unnecessary.The pot performed and the rice came out absolutely perfect. Ever so slightly on the dry side, the way I like it, each grain separate and distinct. With a little fluffing there were no clumps. Not one. Delicious!Then I realized I'd intended to make fried rice with the leftovers and perfect separation was unnecessary. Undesirable even. You want little clumps that fry on the outside and are creamy on the inside. Oops!This is one of the cleanest bags of rice I've ever used. Just realize there may be times you don't want to rinse this rice aggressively.5 stars

This is a rich, aromatic, washable rice, good grain length. I have seen no bugs.

Since our Costco quit carrying big bags of organic brown rice, this has been my replacement. I was skeptical about buying online; however, this rice compares nicely in overall quality and value and is conveniently delivered straight to my front door. Taste, smell, and size are all what you would expect and no bugs (or I would never order it again). Organic is important to me for health reasons, so this rice is perfect for our family.

Surprised the heck out of me! Recently my husband was diagnosed as pre diabetic with high blood pressure. He’s only 33 years old so we are trying to change our lifestyle completely, especially when it comes to rice. Which is what we eat a lot of so I made this yesterday with some shrimp and asparagus. I put the rice in a rice cooker and put no salt chicken stock and it came out fluffy And delicious surprisingly it was not chewy texture. I mean, you had small pieces like that, but not the whole thing I was convinced I was eating white rice. The surprising part is that my husband really liked it and preferred it over the white rice. I just re-ordered a few bags but let me tell you these little changes sure it will make a difference. You won’t regret your purchase.

This was decent alternative when my favorite from Trader Joe’s was no longer available. If you learn how to prepare it , it can be good. Here is the issue, I ordered this item at $3.98 a 2 lb bag, when I returned 1 week later to reorder, the same item was $8.98 per bag, ridiculous! Fortunately I am a smart shopper and I located same item for $2.99 a bag from a competitor. I stocked up and put in my fridge to keep freshness. And will give Amazon time to calm down.
