Ok but missing some key components
The book speaks to outsourcing in a reasonable fashion with some good suggestion, processes and methodologies however it does have some holes and some coverage areas that could use some improvement (holes - driving correct provider behavior, improvement areas - managing the deal, innovation, exit planning, etc.) and some processes that need work. Also it has some age to a few suggestions - e.g. some items in this book were being used in the 1980's. All in all an ok book.

Ground-breaking new approach to supply chain collaboration
This is a really ground-breaking new approach to supply chain collaboration. As a professor in this field, I teach a course on this specific subject and I use this text, and the others in the series like the Vested Manual, to help my students understand that there is a better, more collaborative, way to manage your supply chains - yielding increased profits and market share for firms who can grasp and implement the idea. I firmly believe that this approach offers such a profound competitive advantage, in terms of efficiencies and innovation, that in 100 years there might not be many firms surviving who still employ the old I win - you lose mindset.

The book leaves you wondering how to achieve Vested Outsourcing at a practical level....
Pro: This book explains the pitfalls of many existing outsourcing agreements. It introduces the concept of vested outsourcing at a high level.Con: The book does not give any specific examples of how to achieve vested outsourcing in practice. It does not contain any sample contracts. So the reader is left wondering how this great idea can actually be achieved and reflected in a contract.
