VacFlow Floating Pool Thermometer, Polar Bear with String, for Outdoor/Indoor Pool and Spa, Jacuzzi and Pond

We received this product looking for a fun pool thermometer but a couple things stood out right away. The temperature range on it goes to 120 which I guess is great if you have a hot tub but makes reading a standard pool temperature pretty difficult given the small numbers, also the liquid indicator inside is blue which makes it difficult to read as well. The other problem was the colors on the top portion, particularly the polar bear and the white portions of the float are pretty discolored right out of the box. They already appear to be yellowing and I can only imagine what a summer outside in the pool will do to it. Overall it was more of a hassle to return this thing given the credit for shipping was going to eat up half the cost so we will just keep it until it inevitably falls apart or becomes so discolored we discard it for something of higher quality.The other issue we have is the thermometer consistently reads 5-10 degrees warmer than it actually is. We have our old pool thermometer as well as an infrared that both read the same while this floating thermometer will read that the water is much warmer.

I ordered this polar bear thermometer rather than a standard one just to mainly entertain myself in our pool. It floats as expected. The only thing I didn't like is that it doesn't stick into the water very far so it isn't giving the temperature below like 6 inches. Not a major deal and I knew when ordering. The glue which is holding the thermometer inside the tube doesn't look to be appeared with much care as I see a few spots with excess. Not enough to prevent from reading the numbers though, just as expected based on the price paid.

The one I got is definitely off (low) by a couple of degrees (confirmed by 4 other thermos), but that isn't a huge deal, as long as you know it is off. The polar bear lounging is very cute, and looks good in the pool...but it is really hard to read. Actually, it is really hard to see the line, but when/if you see it, there is no problem reading the temp.It has been floating in the direct sun for a couple of months, and still looks brand new, so it does seem like it will last several seasons of Florida Sun.

Lower quality vinyl wouldn’t stay afloat after 2 months

Had it maybe two week, Bear in tube fills with water then lays on its side! Have to take out try to get the water out and hope he floats like he should.

my thermometer does not stay upright in pool

It doesn't float like it should. It lays sideways, so the thermometer isn't in the water correctly. It's off by a few degree's because of that.

My big strong husband told me he was ordering a new thermometer for the pool. I thought for sure he would order something functional and without personality. Then came the Polar Bear wearing sunglasses in an inner tube! I love this! It reminds me of my husband floating in the pool in his very own inner tube! Love this item!
