Peter, Paul & Mary Songbook

I am very pleased with this “acceptable” used copy. I can tell this book was loved by the previous owner, who even transcribed chords into a different key and notated it all in pencil. I love the music of PPM, too, so the aged appearance makes the book more endearing.Pages are intact, not ripped. Binding is still great. No coffee stains. Not dirty.Yes, this is a copy from 1963. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Will buy from this vendor again, for sure. Thank you!

There is one PP&M songbook with piano arrangements by Robert DeCormier. This book is not it. This one has notation (not TAB) that sort of reflects the guitar patterns and riffs that were typical of PP&M's performances, at least as much as it is possible to notate two guitars as one. I did know a fellow back in the '60s who learned some PP&M accompaniments from records without realizing he was reproducing the music of two guitars on his one. The typography of this book was excellent unlike the copy of this title reviewed elsewhere on this site. Chord names are provided over the melody line, so it's still fun to play these familiar old tunes as from a lead sheet. I think this book would be more useful for guitarists though. Not what I wanted, but it wouldn't be fair to diss the product. Guitarists will probably find it very helpful.

A great selection of Peter, Paul , and Mary's best music. Bought this third copy as gift for cousin in Michigan who will be singing with me at a family reunion and at a night club later this month.

Sheet music for Peter Paul and Mary. The book includes lyrics as well as notes for multiple instruments.

The book is a classic. I have owned 3 versions of this book but lost 2. The quality of printing is the main factor for lowering my rating. I still think that the publishers need to be meticulous about selecting papers, quality of printing methods to maintain its high statue.

Good selection of songs in an easy to use format.

This book does have a lot of songs, but I am disappointed in the guitar parts. I got the impression that some of the licks and technique specific to their "sound" would be outlined here, but it's not. It's mainly chord diagrams. So this is a great book for parlor parties and learning basic chords used, but not much else.

Good book for Peter, Paul and Mary oldies. Production quality is not as good as the original I bought a few decades ago.

この楽譜集には、1962年リリースのファーストアルバム「Peter, Pual and Mary」から、1965年リリースの「A Song Will Rise」までの、５つのアルバムからピックアップした４２曲の楽譜が入っています。ただ、残念ながら、"EARLY MORNIN' RAIN", "JANE, JANE" などは入っていません。これらは、「A Song Will Rise」の次に、1965年にリリースされたアルバム「See What Tomorrow Brings」に入っている曲なので仕方がないのかもしれませんが。とは言え、Peter, Pual and Mary の初期ころの曲の多くが網羅されています。Peter, Pual and Mary がお好きな皆さんには、お薦めです。

PPMが好き、ギターが好き、というわけで、少しづつ買っていきます。
