Do I have to plug It into speakers or does it have speakers built in (I've never bought one and I don't to get it and realize I need more equipment)?

The SamplePad Pro does not have on board speakers. You can use head phones or plug it directly into an amp or computer speakers. Of course to the quality of the speakers you use directly effects the quality of its sound output.
