In my opinion, Peter Grundy's Doing Pragmatics is an excellent introduction into the subject of pragmatics. Pragmatics is highly interesting, and great fun. Sadly, the pragmatics course in the linguistics programme I'm currently in, ends in the middle of January. The positive thing is, I will still have this book!
