Dk Eyewitness 2019 Ireland (Dk Eyewitness Travel Guide)

I went to Ireland some years back and would have had far less fun had I not had this guide with me! It is great for planning day-trips as well as negotiating the land in general. It is color-coded by area and easily gotten through as a result. Recommendations for restaurants and accommodations are solid. In my opinion, an indispensable tool for touring Ireland! I was pleased to buy it for my nephew who is making his first trip over. He'll be well-equipped!

Wish I had this before booking our trip to Ireland. Learned so much just by reading it. It took us to several places we did not know about, but ran out of time on trip. Can not wait until we can return to Ireland and see all the stuff we missed the first time around.

I miss the detailed local mapping that I have had in other Eyewitness books. Still i prefer it Other books. Lots of local photos and it provides great information and local area detail.

This is probably my favorite travel book yet. I have both the Rick Steve’s (which is my least favorite) and Fodor’s which I also really like. This one gives you more pictures and I really feel helps me plan better. I am leaving in three weeks and will take this book with me!

DK travel guides are the best of all that are available. Concise with beautiful photos.Just enough information without being too wordy. Have been buying them for years.

The guide is much lighter in weight than previous guides in the series. Unfortunately, the photographs contained in the book do not reproduce well on the lighter paper resulting in lack of detail and color shifts. One of the reasons for purchasing books in this series was for the quality photographs which are no more. The information contained in this book lists many small towns but gives the reader little clue as to what attractions or towns are more worthy of seeing. There is little practical information necessary to plan a trip and surprisingly, very little on the culture. It can not be used alone in planning a trip and without the quality photos, it can not serve as a good souvenir of sites visited on the trip. You will need to buy another guide to properly plan the trip, making this book superfluous.

I reviewed this book before my trip to Ireland and brought it with me during the trip. Super helpful. I love the maps and layout of cities.

The incredible amount of information packed into the "DK Eyewitness Travel Guide Ireland: 2019" will aid you in your travel planning. Brief descriptions of the many opportunities to discover Ireland's magical sites are divided into the seven distinct areas so that you can logically plan your days. While there are only a few recommendations for lodging and food options, sites and guides focusing on these subjects are plentiful.The reasons that "DK Eyewitness Travel Guide Ireland: 2019" received only four stars were the lack of quality with respect to the paper on which the guide was printed and the abysmal resolution of many of the photographs. At times, I had to determine whether a photo was actually a photo or a poorly done artist's rendering of the subject matter. Particularly distressing were the photos of the Giant's Causeway and the mistake that showed the information to be on page 10 when it was actually on page 11. While that may seem a minor error, when I am paying for a travel guide, I expect it to have correct information.
