Would I be able to replace the 0.5mm Mechanical Pencil for a green ink replacement?

I've ordered replacement ink tubes, as well as the pencil tube. They are all the exact same size, so I cannot see why it would not work.

Is it as smooth as the 800

I am not familiar with the 800. But, the pen works great and it feels quite smooth to me. It was a great purchase.

Can it write upside down (is ink pressurized?)

No. The refills are not pressurized, and it won't write upside down (at least not for more than a couple of seconds).

Is this a gravity controlled pen?

I'm not sure but I do know that how you hold the pen facilitates what color you want it to write in. It is pretty unique in that regard and I'm sure gravity some how plays a part with how the positioning of the pen causes the pen to write in the appropriate color(red, black, blue, pencil)
