Yes, i highly recommend this case.The Otterbox Defender case w/o screen protector is exactly what i ordered. The 3 piece case is well made and assembles tight. The two plastic shells snap together but are at present somewhat hard to dissemble because they are new. This should ease with use.The synthetic rubber outer shell is somewhat difficult to wrap around the inner plastic frame but also should ease with time.As this is my second case for a Galaxy phone (S8), i would not have dropped my S7 and broke it if Otterbox would have imprinted a model or part number visible from the outside of the case. Or if Samsung would have put Silicon grips (dots) on the S7 (S8) phone albeit indifferent to their marketing this would be a solution preventing you from having to replace your phone prematurely.Operator Error: keep it soft, don't open the case over the bathroom sink in a morning daze at 4:30 AM.The previous case held up for 3 years while in harsh conditions of dust; dirt; -20° and drops as much as 8 feet (Industrial; Construction; Military and Hunting). I wore out the rubber clousure on the power port and finally broke the retaining clasps between the ports precipitating the replacement of the case.Case is almost idiot proof...if kept in place.I plan on purchasing another one within the month as a backup.

Very durable

This otter box style is great for my Samsung Galaxy S8. The inner "box" is lighter pink and rigid. The outer "box" is dark mauve and rubbery. The S8 phone has a rounded glass cover on all 4 edges and I worried that a cover would come up too high to press the side edges of the phone. No worries though because the longer sides of the "box" are lower making it so you can press on the edges just fine and the top and bottom is higher so if you drop it, the higher edges should take the hit well. My old otter box had the rubbery one inside and the rigid one outside--when you dropped it, the outer one got cracked. This one is a better design having the rubber cover on the outside in my opinion even though I haven't dropped the S8 yet.

Considering the Galaxy S8 is a difficult phone to put a protector on because of the curved screen, the OtterBox does a good job at keeping the box slim but still provide protection.It provides a lip around the edge of the phone that should help protect the screen from drops but also does not block the edges of the touch screen.

I love this case. Been using for years and needed a new one identical to the original which it is. I have dropped my phone numerous times all different ways and this case never fails as far as no damage to the screen or anything ever. This case is the best I've ever tried in phone protectors throughout all the years / decades I've been using cell phones. I recommend to anyone.
