Like butter
After trying a few bits from Aldi which to be frank were rubbish I decided to try and find something better. Reading on forums the consensus was that Fisch bits were the way to go. They weren’t wrong as they cut through a oak veneered door with ease.

Clinically clean holes made with this high quality bit
My needs: to cut an accurate, clean and true hole in 1/2" plywood. No slop or out of round holing was acceptable as the hole was to be an interference fit (at least snug) to a metal pole through the hole. The Fisch Forstner bit was the ideal tool to deliver the cut I needed. The Forstner bit design makes this sort of cut possible, and the Fisch engineering quality makes it a certainty. They are expensive, but I know this bit will last ages and deliver the same high quality cut time and again. Made of forged steel and made in Austria - all hallmarks of a quality tool - do not confuse this with re-labelled, imported bits.

Great forstner…
Have bought cheap forstner bits in the past but the finish is poor after the 1st 5 uses, admittedly these are not cheap but they are imo worth the cost…the hole is clean and with crisp edges time after time. I like these so much I now only buy fisch for all my drill bits!

Fisch ~ you need to splash out on a new Sharpie pen
24mm ordered and received.Arrived with printing over the top of some faded Sharpie scribble which wasn't doing a good job of obscuring the original printing underneath. A quick wipe and, the Sharpie came off...Looks to be the wrong size (25) had been printed on the bit hence, the Sharpie pen and amended printing. Checked with a calliper and, it is 24mm; so that's good.I figure the shoddy attempt to hide the printing error isn't representative of the bit quality but, if it is is then I'll edit this with some massive grumbling.

As sharp as it gets - a pleasure to work with
This bit is not cheap, but is great quality and definitely worth the money.Super-sharp even today, after I used it to cut dozens of holes in plywood and pine.

Blown Away! Smooth as Silk in IPE!
I am amazed at how easily and cleanly the Fisch WaveCutter Fortsner bit cuts through IPE (Eepay) wood -- like butta, smooth and fast! IPE is one of the hardest woods in the world (Janka hardness of 3,684 vs.1,200 for oak). In the past, I've cut 66 23mm holes with a Fortsner bit for recessed LED stair lights in two IPE wood decks. I've been through 4 high speed steel (HSS) bits and one carbide. The carbide one lost it's edge in 12 holes. While it was better than HSS, it still didn't last long (just like my carbide saw blades cutting IPE). For the carbide bit, I had to use an impact driver to assist with the cut for the last few holes and really lean on it. I don't know yet how long the WaveCutter will last but if it's like this now, I expect it will go a long way. Even when the other bits were new, they never glided through IPE wood like the WaveCutter. I have 12 more holes to go. I've done 2 with the WaveCutter already. I'll return to post the results.Update:12 more holes cut in IPE with the WaveCutter. Almost no degradation. Somewhat slower but really a small difference. I blame IPE's gumminess more than the bit. With the heat generated, a film of burnt IPE will coat the outside of the bit adding friction to the cut. A little bit of scraping with a knife and running the bit against a small wire brush gets rid of it. I'll be buying a set of these bits now.

Sehr gut in OSB
Habe es für Topfscharniere gekauft. Spantransport, Vorschub und Genauigkeit sind sehr gut. Der Schnitt ist sauber und ich kann den Bohrer nur empfehlen.
