When I first opened the package, I was disappointed. The product is completely flat with what feel like just a few beads compared to other products I have used. I thought “Why bother putting them in at all? There are not enough to matter”. I decided to drop them in water and give them a try. I was extremely surprised at how “plump” it got! Works great! The snap makes them easy to put on and off, as well as move around to keep cool. On the other hand I can tie the ends then snap for a tighter fit if I don’t want it to bounce around in active sports. Overall, I would recommend and would buy again

I got this during summer 2023, which is breaking heat records around the country. Average temps these days are 104 to 106 F. I don't handle heat well, and after two serious incidents of heat exhaustion, have been terrified of having to run errands in this heat. This item was easy to use and really helped me manage my body temperature to a bearable level. I presoaked in ice water, then took another buyer's advice and kept it in a thermos till I needed to get outside. I like that you can flip it over and turn it around every so often, so that as your body warms an area, you can apply a different section that's still cool, or has cooled off. It kept my temperature under control for a good four or five hours.

I bought 2 of these to use on my morning walks. I try to get in 3 miles in the morning and another 2 at night after it cools off but even at 7am it's already hot, these do help though they're not exactly easy to use in the sense that I like to get up brush my teeth and throw my hair in a loose bun and go but these need to be soaked in water for 15 minutes prior to use so you can't just walk out the door without planning to use these. They are also not perfect, you have to turn them over every few minutes or they get as warm as your skin and don't feel cool. I'll also pour a little cold water on it as I go which helps. Over all better than nothing but not perfect.

I bought this for my husband who is an OTR flatbed driver to help combat the summer heat. It absorbs water, and cools very quickly. It definitely feels wonderfully cool on the neck, but it leaves behind a kind of sticky slimy residue. He says that it helps, but warms up rather quickly. He will continue using it, as any relief from the hot summer months is worth using.

My husband is a construction worker and with it being so hot outside in the summer I got him these neck wraps that he loves and says work really well. He has the three and rotates them in his cooler through out the day. Because the wraps are wet dust does stick to them but he gets dusty regardless.

Being from New Mexico, I get a lot of hot summers, but this past summer was very, very warm for the area, and a lot suffered for it. I was finding it so hard to get out and do anything, until I found this product. Replenishing it in cold water 10 minutes before a bike ride, it would last for the entire ride- at least 2 hours. It’s ingenious and now I find myself making plans for next summer, things that I know I’ll be able to do thanks to a Koolgator! Seriously, you’ll thank yourself so many times for getting this. I also used to it do yard work, gardening, anything outside. It’s legitimately a life saver and an attitude saver (in my case).

It is filled with some kind of squishy material, (maybe gel) that swells when wet. The problem is all of the material oozes downward from gravity and ends up all at the ends- those aren't on your neck. The only way to keep the gel stuff around my neck is to continually squeeze it back up into the material every minute or so which is quite annoying to have to do. Also doesn't really stay cool for more than a few minutes. The heat from my neck takes the coolness away very quickly. It's also only washable by hand. If used daily, it never dries between uses. Sweating all over it and constantly being saturated with water (how you revive the gel stuff) can make it smelly pretty fast- picture how a really wet towel would smell if it wasnt rung out after a few days. Handwash only doesn't cut it.

I have been using cooling neck wraps for years and my old ones finally wore out so it was time for a change. I bought some of the cheaper wraps but they were very disappointing. They didn't have nearly enough of the absorbent gel in them and they would dry out too fast. I threw them out and bought three KOOLGATOR wraps and they are fantastic. They have a lot of absorbent gel in them and they soak up water way faster than the cheap ones. It definitely pays to spend a little more to get a quality product.I do have one small complaint: the snap that holds the ends together is too weak. When running hard to chase down a ball on the tennis court, the snap sometimes comes open. That is very distracting when in the middle of a point. If not for that I would have given them a five star rating.

Product works well but would prefer to see some plain colours without patterns .
