Poulan PL3816, 16 in. 38cc 2-Cycle Gas Chainsaw,Black

I bought it for my husband and he really likes it! He had an really old one my dad gave him. He kept saying he needed a new one but was afraid newer would not be better. Guess what new just as good as the older one. My husband cut up wood for an entire day with it and works great! Plus no more wood piles 😉

I used to buy Poulan chainsaws because they had sufficient power to cut sizeable logs and firewood. I ordered the PL3816 to replace an aging saw. Used the saw for 1/2 hour during which time it stalled frequently and died during idiling. Then the pull cord fell off rendering the machine useless. There is no return policy and I have read reviews that said product support is poor. I have never given a bad review before, but this frustrating experience provoked me into it.

I love it but to everyone else poulan is a great saw you just got to adjust adle and low a hair if you're not located on the shore there calibrated at sea level so it's needs adjusted in some if you live above it

I've been using these saws for years, and in my opinion, they are a two-year saw, that is, you can use them heavily and they will cut a LOT of wood (Use mine for firewood)....I usually get about two years of heavy use out of these Poulan saws until they develop carb problems and I have a hard time even getting anyone to work on them..A "disposable" saw that will give you a lot of hard work for the money...For the price I don't mind buying a new one every few years...I usually keep two on hand, an 18" and a 16"..Can't really say anything bad about these saws, I've owned a half dozen of them during the last 20 years or so.

This is a good saw cut's well, but I would suggest after a couple of uses you change the cheap factory spark plug, makes starting a lot easier

I bought this because I did not want a product made in China. This product is terrible, and I recommend no one buy it. I used it once, and it kept stalling out. Frustrated, I put it away for a week. Next time, I emptied the tank, put in fresh gas and oil as recommended, and started it again. As soon as I tried the throttle, it stalled out again. Then, when I tried to pull the cord, the cord began to stick! I tried multiple times, and the pull cord kept getting stuck. I called the help line on the owner's manual, and Poulan is no longer supported so I had to go to the website. On the website, I was told I could not return it through Amazon but had to travel to a support center. Absurd! So I would have had to drive God knows how many miles to see if a local lawn mower shop would take it and give me money back. Still, we contacted Amazon and they have agreed to refund the purchase price. So thank you to Amazon, but not to Poulan! Again, buy another brand of chainsaw!
