Primrose 3.0m Electric Awning - Ivory Mayfair DIY Patio Awning Gazebo Canopy (9ft 8") Complete with Fittings and Winder Handle

I owned a Gardman awning which was eight years old and needed to be replaced. Even though I asked the question and they couldn't confirm it, this item fits onto the existing wall brackets which saves some time and stops the need for drilling more holes into your outside wall.It arrived in a week but unfortunately was damaged. ( dropped from a great height during transit i would say) I e mailed Primrose with photographs and got a positive reply straight away. They would replace it and collect the damaged one. Brilliant. The new one arrived a day later, no kidding! A carrier then collected the damaged one a few days later.It is good quality for the price and is of the same quality and design of the one i replaced which lasted me for eight years. It is easy to install and comes with a winder handle and brackets in the box. Looks great and shades my patio area and living room. I would say you could use it fully open to about a force four to five wind depending on gust's. I would have no hesitation in purchasing this product again and had fantastic service from Primrose about the damaged unit. My only slight niggle is i really wish they would increase the price by a few pound and include a winter cover in the box. I would recommend you buying one to help protect it through the winter. Watch out for spiders though when you remove it in March !!!!

Hi, Bought this to replace an.umbrella type on the patio .My first thought was why didn't i do this years ago !. Although this item is the budget one from Primrose I Think it is such good value .A friend of mine has the more expensive one selling at Two Hundred and something and the difference seems to be in the thickness of the extending arms, so would be a lot stronger i assume .I have only had this one fixed up for a few days so can only review this as early days !!. So far it has met up to my expectations ..The delivery was quick,only about 4 days from ordering .Having read up on these blinds, all of the reviews mentioned the raw bolts .In fact this blind was sent with large plastic raw plugs .Can't quite understand this as i would have preferred actual raw bolts .Time will tell if i have to change them over for raw bolts .As for the installing, it is just a matter of getting the two mounting brackets in the right place ,remembering that this is a 3 meter blind only having 2 brackets .Anything longer they provide 3 brackets i believe .I don't know if you will find this useful but i found that if you measure the middle of the blind frame and make a pencil mark exactly half way ,then measure 56 inches from the middle mark to either end is where you have to line up the middle of the hole in bracket .But please double check this before you drill any holes !!! As other people have said before you will need a 14mm masonry drill bit for putting this blind up .I Hope this review has been of some help .PS Don't forget when drilling holes start off with small pilot hole working your way up to the 14mm bit .

Next day delivery on this manual awning which I fixed it into place in under an hour after making sure of clearances and measurements. The unit appears to be well built and engineered; the two fixing brackets, wall plugs and screws are heavy duty and are well up to the job when secured to brickwork. When fully extended to 2.5mtrs the awning seems solid enough but in order to take some stress from the main structure and provide more stability I supported the leading edge with two wooden vertical props. Also when fully extended with the winding handle the leading edge was easy to level up with the wall mounted torsion bar by using the adjusting bolts and incorporated level gauge, having done that it retracted evenly and easily. Just one point that isn’t made clear: in the advertisement specifications it says “Waterproof” yet in the instructions it says do not leave out in strong winds/rain. Whether it is waterproof or not remains to be seen but £ for £ I’ve found this awning to be a great user friendly alternative to a so called pop up gazebo as it can be extended or retracted in about 30 seconds by one person!!

This could be my first time on Amazon that I am writing a somewhat less of a high praise report !The Awning itself is excellent and I look forward to putting it up in less inclement weather ! The enclosed bolts to secure the Awning to the wall brackets were too short so I am using my own stainless steel ones ! Secondly the screws to attach the Wall Brackets to the Wall (concrete block) were not Expansion Type but were COACH SCREWS (For Wood) and the plastic plugs for wall bolts were not high quality !I have now purchased 4 Anchor Bolts M10 105mm long, heavy weight use for use on solid brickwork. This will ensure a safe hold for the 3 metre Awning !Robert Newstead Aberdeen Scotland

baught this a month ago,but put it up yesterday with the help of my wife,it was quite simple in the end,the first thing to do after opening the box is get the brackets out, go to your nearest wickes or b n q and by 4 dead bolts I got 4 16 mm x95 ,I used a 14mm drill bit cause I couldn't get 16mm,anyway I just trimmed the holes a bit more then put the bolts in using a small hammer,done brackets solid and secure,better than the ones supplied,the other big help was a video I watched on youtube how to install a garden awning canopy.the one I watched was English and used a 3.5mtr canopy from primrose, it made the job well easy,1 last tip after getting it up both sides make sure the turning eye at the top is hanging down and not facing the wall,anyway it looks great and its easy to adjust the drop using the spirit level. good luck
