Speidel Medical Scrub Glow Watch - Silicone Band, 24 Hour Marks, Second Hand, Lighted Easy-Read Face

I am not in the medical profession but I wanted a simple analog watch with a white face, black numbers and red second hand, military time and a light up dial. As an older person, I also wanted a watch with a larger size dial for easier readability. I did not want a date window since I can’t see it anyway, plus I didn’t want to have to adjust it monthly. The description of this medical watch seems to fit the bill. I wear a 38mm Apple watch which I love and thought this watch would be a similar size. The width is slightly wider than my Apple watch, probably due to its round shape. Since I have smaller wrists, I would prefer the size to be slightly smaller but that is a matter of personal preference.The luminous hands are touted as a feature on this model. It should be noted that only half of the length of the hands are luminous. Since this watch is targeted towards the medical field, I think it would be much nicer if the full length of the hands would glow. Luminous hour markers would also be nice although with the seconds markings, it could make the dial more crowded. As with all watches with luminous hands and/or markers, you will need to expose the dial to bright light for a few seconds in order for the hands to glow in the dark.I assume the biggest reason why many people chose this particular model is for the light up dial. This feature is similar to the Timex Indiglo, where a push of the button would light up the dial for about three seconds. For someone like myself, that is sufficient to see the time in the dark but I understand the comments by medical professionals who state a few seconds is certainly not long enough to perform any kind of medical task. It would be nice if there was an option to keep the watch lighted for a longer period of time, then manually shut if off when needed. Of course, this would eat up more battery life but the user should be aware of that anyway.In conclusion, for my own needs it serves my purpose as a non-technological watch for casual use. I looked at cheaper Timex Easy Reader models with similar features, but came back to this watch because of the red/black color combination on the dial for easy readability. I deducted a star because the watch is overpriced, but I hope that the battery will last a couple of years and the long-term reliability will be able to justify the premium cost. Only time will tell.

Even tho this says water resistant I tried to keep it from getting wet. It did get wet the other day while washing my hands and it immediately fogged up with condensation in the dial. Complete waste of $

The seller did great, no issues with the overall order, however the product turned out to be quite the disappointment. Thinking investing a little more than usual for a watch inline with the medical profession in which I work would be a great idea, I purchased a watch from Speidel, trusting in that being a $60 bucks well spent. Initially I was very satisfied, the watch is easy to read, though I wish the light up feature would last longer in order to time vitals in low light, however after approximately one month of ownership, as I am driving to work, the watch just falls off, the band holding metal piece, without any apparent cause, just came dislodged. No heavy bumps or rough wear, no being fiddled with, no discernible reason. It just somehow ceased holding the band. Then I struggle with trying to get it to retract so I can get it back in the holes to reattach to the watch face part. Reliability is essential for products being used in the medical field, and sadly this watch failed in this count. I am currently wearing my watch that cost less than $20 bucks, even after a probable big college book store mark-up. I have had that watch for almost a year with no issues. I do not like leaving negative reviews, but I would advise this watch is not worth the price.

Second hand fell off after 5 days, enough said.

I wanted a watch with a large face that lit up and was easy to read even in a dark room. The face of the watch looks huge in the photo but I do have a small wrist. The face (the white part not including the silver rim) is 1 1/4 inches across. I'm very happy with my purchase. The fact that the watch is water-resistant is an extra bonus.

Purchased the Speidel Scrub Nurse's watch with the "teal" band for my daughter, who graduated as a C.N.A. and top in both her class and at the state exams! This watch has all the qualities she was looking for to help her on her "duties". She works a lot of evening shifts and the lighting feature is a plus. In addition, it being waterproof is a must. She asked if there is a stainless steel, two-tone band she could purchase to wear on her off days, I told her I wasn't sure. But way to go Speidel!

I really like the watch its really helpful but I don't like that the watch light up or glow does not last. You have to keep pressing it down for it to shine and that's not really helpful in anyway. I wish that you could keep it on then turn it off but its not like that. I bought it for the glow but I was really disappointed.

This is an excellent watch for nurses and anyone wanting a classic watch. The white background with large black numbers is very easy to read. Around the interior edge are 60 second and tick Mark's that are clear and precise. There is also an interior military time measurement. The only drawbacks from my viewpoint are the size of the watchface and wristband (I prefer a little larger on both), the short glow time, and the $80 pricetag.

would buy another one of these watches for sure.

Why isn’t my watch lighting up? I paid more for the glow watch and touching the button doesn’t light up???????? Is this a fake?

Excellent product , however the light doesn't stay on very long. I was hoping it was something I could control 👍
