Product Description

From the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian province in China, our Tarry Lapsang Souchong is Cedarwood smoked to create a well developed cup that combines the green woodiness of the cedar with the deep earthy-rich flavour of the large leaves. This traditional, smoky black tea is considered to be one of the first black teas ever created, and was the unforeseen consequence of tea growers in the Qing Era rushing the annual drying process by smoking the leaves dry in order to serve the armies marching by.
