Nice set
Haven't made it through all of the discs yet, but the ones I have watched work with no issues. Mix of DVDs and Blu-rays. Disney sure had some odd ball ones in the beginning that are included. Also, some of the later ones are hit and miss compared to some of the classics I think, but I think it is a well-put-together set. It doesn't include any of the Disney/Pixar films which is a shame, but I suppose there was a licensing issue or something that prevented them from being included in a Disney set. A bit pricey but still cheaper than buying them individually. Book that is included is just basically a timeline of the included movies with some info here and there but is a nice addition.

Important Note for Consumers
Great disc set love it however, one needs to keep in mind the discs in this collection are country coded. This means that you may need a blue ray player that is formatted for all three country codes A, B and C. Cheers.

Still A Good Buy Even Though 16 Disks Will Not Play in North America (Region A)*
* there is a way around this as noted below and in other reviews.UPDATE 6-13-2019: I just bought an all-region Blu-Ray player. I was able to play all 16 of the disks that were not compatible with my North American (region A) player. So, I have all 53 disks for viewing. See full discussion below.I had wanted to replace all my 20-25 year-old Disney animated movie VHS tapes that I got when my daughter was young. I had already bought a few of the movies in Blu-Ray format. Then I saw an article about this boxed set. I read all the other reviews and realized that 39 of them would play in North America, and that I could get a Blu-Ray player that handled all regions (extra cost of course).I ordered my set from a U.S. vendor rather than from Amazon U.K. even though it cost more. I was able to get the set in two days. Overall, I think it is worth the price. Even when I add in the cost to buy a new player, the cost per movie is about half, or less, than what I was paying for individual movie disks. If you want only a few movies, it might be cheaper to buy them individually. But if you need to replace 25 VHS tapes, as I did, this is clearly the way to go.Some observations and things to think about -- This is clearly a Disney product, with the 2018 Disney copyright and other references to Disney in the packaging. The packaging and design are high quality. The disks are organized by date of release. Supplementary materials provide information on the movies. The 80-page book has a great timeline of Disney's movies.- Why weren't all of them compiled to play in all regions? It makes no make sense that they could have The Sword in the Stone (1963) for all regions, but not The Jungle Book (1967), which is much more popular. Maybe they took just what disks they had available in the warehouse and didn't go to the trouble of producing more. Clearly, the major shortcoming to an otherwise great product.- Five of the disks are DVDs, not Blu-Ray disks. Four of these are from the 1940s and The Black Cauldron (1985). These are not high-demand movies and does not diminish the overall product.- The older movies are in the old 4x3 format used for movies up until the mid-to-late 1950s. That's just they way they were shot.- I have a few complaints about the movies included, or more importantly, omitted.-- Disk 9 is labeled Fun and Fancy Free. Disk 11 is labeled The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. But the fine print says that the contents of the two disks are identical. Both movies are short and can fit on one disk, but they included it twice to make it appear that you were getting two different movies. This could have freed up space for another movie.-- That missing movie is the 2011 Winnie the Pooh (different from the 1977 The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh which is included in the set).-- They did include the 2006 animated movie The Wild, about a group of zoo animals. While released by Buena Vista Studios, a branch of Disney, the animation was done by another studio, not Disney's Animation Studios. It was not a commercial success. In fact, I had never heard of it. If I had to omit a movie, this is the one I would have omitted.-- Also missing is the 2000 movie Dinosaur. While all the characters and most of the action is CGI animated, the backgrounds were mostly live-action film to give the film a more realistic look. The movie is a hybrid that falls between the fully animated movies and the live-action/animated movies such as Mary Poppins or Pete's Dragon.-- Am I being too picky? Probably, but if they had not added the second, duplicate disk and omitted the non-Disney animated The Wild, they could have added these two more successful and better known movies. The lack of five stars is due to these omissions.- Other than the omissions just mentioned, this set includes all the major theater releases of Disney's in-house animated feature movies up through Moana (2016). There is a space in the book to add your own disk of Ralph Wrecks the Internet (2018).-- The set does not include any of the Pixar movies. (A box set of 17 Pixar movies and collections will cost you more than $400 US.)-- The set does not include any of the live-action movies such as Mary Poppins or the more recent Enchanted. With all the new live-action versions recently released and coming soon, this would make another great (expensive) box set in the near future. (However, Disney's coming streaming service will likely prevent that from happening.)-- None of the straight-to-video sequels are included (and not missed too much). The movies that work in Region B only are Pinocchio, Fantasia, Sleeping Beauty, The Wild, Meet the Robinsons, Bolt, and The Princess and the Frog. Movies that work in regions B and C are Snow White, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, and the Jungle Book. The five DVDs also do not play in North America. They are Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros, Make Mine Music, Melody Time (all compilations from the 1940s) and The Black Cauldron. In my testing, I was able to get Alice in Wonderland to play on my Blu-Ray player even though it is listed as region B-C only.Three of the restricted movies I had already bought on Blu-Ray separately, so I can watch 43 of the movies right now. That should keep me busy for a while before I buy that all-region player. (One reviewer said you can get one for $99. That is the price for a refurbished one, not a new one.) Buying a new all-region player will be much less expensive than buying individual copies of the restricted disks, assuming they are available.Should I have just waited for the Disney streaming service? Possibly. The cost of the box set could pay for 2-3 years of a subscription, depending on what Disney charges. But I like the flexibility of watching when I want. And I have something to pass on to my heirs. DVD/Blu-Ray players will be around for a while.

Be reasonable and do your research.
Pay attention and you won't get burned. You have to research your purchases. There are 16 region locked disks in the Blu Ray set. You can buy a region free BD player to play those for $99. Even if you don't, do the math. Buy the set from the UK for $275 ($310 after all). $310/39 playable disks equals a hell of a lot less per disk than if you purchased them individually. Then again, you can wait to see if they come out with a US version.
