The Best American Science And Nature Writing 2019

this was a text book for my college writing class and it was cheaper than it was at the bookstore, it shipped pretty fast and idk it did what it was supposed to do. I wouldn’t have read it on my own but for the class it was the more interesting book out of the ones we had to read

The essays in this and the other Best American... series are always informative and well-written. This volume is no exception, but I docked it one star because it had less physical science, and more biological/medical, than I had expected and hoped.

Great stories by great writers on important subjects. I got it for school however if your a reader or have a junior high or high schooler it would be a good choice, words matter and these articles will promote thought and even debate. Perfect for home schooling.

This series continues to provide thought provoking and informative examples of the best writing from each year. It addresses the challenging environment that most science based writing finds itself in given the current political and legislative aversion to productive thought and meaningful discourse. Highly recommended.

I was hoping for a lot of insight into recent scientific advances. This had a lot of stuff about nature and the environment. We like Mother Nature, of course, but it's not the same a scientific advancement and I don't see why the two topics are lumped together. Not the same audience, methinks. Nature articles that I read were pretty good.

Nonfiction involving physics, math, and science is my spouse's #1, best read. This collection fascinated him, ticking all the boxes for his interests. If you have similar interests, this is a great read.

This is one of my favorite materials. Current information and future reading materials come only in this collection. The state of the world is sort of depressing right now. Another reader shared the same sentiment but science and the world are all of a sort. cm

I really laughed at the essay on copier paper jams. There are also 3 essays on a species going extinct, bummer. All were well-written. All in all, a very worthwhile book...
