Big Book of TV Guide Crosswords: Test Your TV IQ Qith More Than 250 Great Puzzles from TV Guide!

The TV guide crosswords have always been my favorite! My grandmother use to do them every week. Very nice size also. I love it!

I haven't done crosswords in ages and this is the perfect collection to get me started again.Growing up, we didn't get the "NY Times", but we got "TV Guide" and that's where I learned to do crossword puzzles.Some of the clues get repetitive over the years, but I'm Generation X and even I could get a majority of the clues from the earlier puzzles without having to look up the answers.And since the answers check themselves, some of the harder ones I was able to deduce from previous correct answers.Speaking of deducing, don't be put off by the low reviews from people whining about the puzzles being "outdated" and "too hard". They obviously can't deduce from the book description and the publication date (1993) that the "last four decades" means the clues span from the 1950s through the 1980s.The first puzzle is dated July 14, 1956 and the last is September 30, 1989. Yes, there was TV before MTV and the internet.If your knowledge of TV and pop culture don't reach that far, then this is not the puzzle book for you.However, I will agree with some of the criticism about the errors to be found. Annoying, but at least you're sharp enough to find them! Nevertheless, it's enough for me to dock a star.Otherwise, this book is a fun, nostalgic collection and hard to put down once you get started.

I am a crossword puzzle freak and this book featuring TV guide puzzles from the 50's to the 80's is real brain teaser. I found out about TV shows i had never heard of as well as my old favorites. You will have a great time solving the puzzles in this book. You could easily spend hours glued to it - it is that addictive. And to what our appetites there is also Volume 2. Have fun!

I love this book of puzzles. It takes me back to my childhood where I saw all these shows.I will order second volume soon.

Most of the puzzles are quite dated. Showed me how much TV I did not watch growing up. At least the answers are in the back of the book. I also found I was allergic to the material of the pages. The paper is a cheap old comic book type of cloth that makes me itch. I also found a few errors in numbering clues - "...11, 12, 13, 13, 15....". Those over 70y may enjoy it.

I'm getting old and I forget a lot but it amazes me how many of the old TV shows I remember. It's very relaxing doing the puzzles.

I love this puzzle book. I'm big on crossword puzzles, and this is one of my favorite books, the book itself was in great shape, the sellers communication was very prompt when I had a question. This book was a really good deal. Thank you!

Purchased this big book of TV Guide crossword puzzles for my Mother and she loved it! There is one puzzle to each page and the print is nice and large. For each puzzle, the date the puzzle ran in the TV Guide is noted which is fun and nostalgic!

I was a little unsure of this prior to purchase BUT the incredibly low buy it now price convinced me, after seeing the same book elsewhere at sky high prices.Primarily this was purchased as a "cheap as chips" Secret Santa gift. However as soon as it arrived, I totally fell in love with the book and decided to keep it for myself!My Bad!!!!!It is brilliant, just brilliant!! If like me, you can't remember what you had for tea yesterday BUT remember all the great TV shows from back in the day, then this book is DEF for you!!!!!I now dedicate 1 hour of "me time" every other evening, to sit and work through these quizzes, with a smile and lots of fond memories of bygone days.What a great book!
